No, because there is a separate Beta MP server. The Beta can never access the Live MP server, so you cannot use the wrong version by mistake.

You will have to use the release version if you want to play your ongoing MP games. This is simple if you are using the Matrix/Slitherine version as they are both installed at once. On STEAM you will need to swap back to the release version which takes a few seconds.
