No sound

Got the game from Steam, have played it for years. Now, all the sudden, there are no sounds in the game! Well, to be honest, there is very small (like 1 second) music starting at the beginning of the game (starting the game) and then it halts and no sound is ever again heared in the game. Yes, clicking sound to the max does not help - clicking it to off will kill the 1 second music at startup. No, I have not installed anything new to my system etc. No, its only this game, sounds work fine in everything else in my computer.

Im running Win10 with latest patches and Steam with latest stuff.

EDIT:
This only happens if resolution is set to 2560x1440! If resolution is 1920x1080 sounds work fine!

The game just does not support any higher resolution than 1920x1080 without causing a lot of problems, so stick with 1920x1080.

Well, it has worked so far perfectly in 2560x1440 without any problems...so...?
