Emperor tyronec using Spanish 1569 fights Emperor Gribol using Polish 1576

We have agreed a draw, neither side willing to attack their opponents in their chosen position.

King KiwiWarlord using Georgian 1494-1619, Defeats King Doyley50 using English 1584.
16,100 Georgians defeat 23,850 English in 8 Moves. 17% - 44%,

English were on the back foot from the very first combat and the Georgians never looked back.

The Ottomans continued their string of losses: 20 to 45. Well played Dilly.

The Georgians seemed to dash aside my Tercios almost without pausing for breath. It is rumoured that they work themselves up into a frenzy while drinking fermented goat's milk after which they are unstoppable. Good game thanks Brian.

Awesum4's Venetians have beaten my Polish after a tense back and forth.

First contact went well for the Poles, winged hussars soundly beating the better part of the Venetian cavalry, and even catching some areqebusiers in the open, while the Polish haiduks found some favorable engagements. Then, however, the winged hussars were caught up in a bout of cavalier's frenzy, mostly pursuing routed units for the rest of the game, while the Venetian light cavalry, mostly light lancers, proved themselves quite able to savage haiduks stuck in the open.

it was a most exciting game. The Winged Hussars swept all but a pike block before them but then pursued for a long time, only 1 made it back to charge again.
Meanwhile my massed arquebus and archers shot up his support troops and Stradiots charged everything in sight, especially the flanks and rear of his Hiiduks and cavalry. My army being twice the size meant I had spare units almost everywhere.
But slowly his 16% to 1% initial advantage was whittled away until we won 66% to 51%.
A great, fun game.

High King Snugglebunnies Spanish are thwarted by a GDod and his bunch of Scottish cattle thieves.

Both sides had similar numbers. The Transylvanian's had 15302 to the Scots 14503. The terrain was dominated by a large central forest in the Transylvanian central deployment zone and a stream running through the centre of the field. The Scots weighed the threat of so many supporting bow armed and firearm infantry combined with so many bow armed cavalry and concluded that they needed to act quickly. Hence, the Scots lined up most of their light lancers on the left of the forest for an immediate attack with the remaining light cavalry and slower infantry and cavalry as a supporting second line.
Contact was made all along the line in turn two as the Transylvanians also advanced quickly (Clearly, hoping the stream as an obstacle would bunt the attack. However, the stream had little effect and the Scottish attack gathered more and more momentum.
Meanwhile, the Scottish right was coming under increasing pressure from large numbers of Transylvanian's desperately trying to reposition themselves from the left of the central forest to turn the Scottish right in a sweeping arc. By the time they had any impact, the Scottish right was reinforced by returning pursuers and reserves.

The final casualty toll was 44/19 not including the Transylvanian cattle herded back over the Scottish border. Yet, twas a very brave defense and counter-attack by a very competent commander.

AKvGoeben vs PeterthePainter, 16,700 Moroccans vs 24,500 Spanish.

The extreme mobility of the Moroccan light cavalry enabled them to one by one pick off the Spanish supporting troops and cavalry, meanwhile the Spanish Tercios stormed the main Moroccan infantry and artillery position atop a hill. Both sides had taken heavy losses but ultimately the Moroccan mounted arquebusiers were left to surround and pick apart the Spanish Tercios, albeit with casualties sustained from the Spanish return fire.

Final result Morrocans 49-65 Spanish.

Good game, well played and Merry Christmas to Peter!

Well played AKvGoeben. It started well for the Spanish but the arquebusiers (mounted or otherwise) caused high casualties among the men of the Tercios. Once all the obvious targets had been attacked by the Tercios it was a matter of chasing light horse with heavy foot whilst being assailed on all sides by ranged light horse. By the end the Spanish were just hoping to survive to turn 24 but it all fell apart in turn 19.

Russia defeats Spain 54% to 65%.

With the massive Tercio formations it seemed daunting for the Russians to best the Spaniards. The more numerous Russian cavalry concentrated on the numerically inferior Spanish cavalry, while most of the Russian massed arquebusiers remained hidden in the woods waiting for the Tercios to advance past them to engage the Russian left wing. Once most of the Spanish cavalry was defeated the arquebusiers were able to advance and concentrate fire on isolated Tercio and pike formations. It was a very close fight.

This round has led to a dramatic change in fortune, and to 2 new titles being created.

GDod's defeat of Snugglebunnies has captured all of the vassals of the former Emperor Gribol and he has now become the ruler of the independent kingdom and Scandanavia, and nothing else.

The Title of High Emperor has been created to mean any person controlling 7 or more States but who is still a vassal of someone even higher.

High Emporer LinkinBrick of Poland also controls King Lascar of Russia and his vassal King SMJohnso77 of France. He Also controls High King AKVGoeben of Nth Africa who controls King Peterthe Painter of Portugal/Spain, and King Dilli of Ireland who himself controls King W_Michael of Turkey.

High Emperor awesum4 of Italy controls High Emporer LinkinBrick but also controls King GDodd of Scotland who controls King Snugglebunnies of Austria.

The other title created is Universal Emperor which means any person controlling 7 or more States but is himself not a vassal of anyone else.

The Universal Emperor TyroneC of Germany controls High Emperor awesum4 as well as King KiwiWarlord of Georgia who controls King Doyley50 of England. Therefore Universal Emperor TyroneC controls all the World except Scandanvia.
