Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and more.

I think you received few thanks because PzC is already "dead", after many years it is natural to have a gradual drop in the players base. No way. I do not want to accept that PzC is dead, and I will still continue to play and mod it, even if I will be the only one around. If no one else, the good o...

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [AXIS] [Turn 71] D-Day-1

So, my strategy for delaying Axis units in Africa worked Yes, but at least I could avoid further Allied invasions in the Mediterranean. And I did start to move a few units out of Africa as soon as it became clear that I can hold it. But I think the battle for Tunis was quite open in both cases for ...

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [AXIS] [Turn 70] D-Day-2

In this game Torch happened in spring 1944, almost together with Normandy, which is much, much later. And in single player it is also possible to delay it significantly even if the player is not very good or do not deploy too many units for the defense of Tunisia. Yes, of course the battle in Afric...

Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 - "what if..." scenario

Ah, and finally, once the ice melts ground units previously moved there would stay where they are and it would be strange to see tank units and atillery floating on the water. Even infantry cannot swim for weeks.😀 So these should be killed by a script but what if the player is unable to move them aw...

Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 - "what if..." scenario

Actually, currently Kronstadt is a port city hex so that both naval and ground units can enter and as such it is close terrain like any other city. However, ground units can only enter from the south and that’s why I believe it is necessary to make it clear for players somehow, and the two road conn...

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [AXIS] [Turn 69] - D-Day-3

After all, the next turn will begin the landing in Sicily. It would be nice if there was some delay. Historically, it was two months. Perhaps this would be enough to organize the defense. Now I have no units for the defense of Sicily or for the defense of Italy. For now I added a one turn delay. Wh...

Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 - "what if..." scenario

Sorry, but this is a modern map of Kronstadt. These a modern roads on the dam building in Millenium. Oh, yeah, for some reason I though that some of them were built before the war. At least temporary bridges. I even remember seeing such a map, but probably I was wrong. Nevertheless, since this port...

Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 - "what if..." scenario

So, this is a not original PC feature and it is your scripts? Great, well done. These scripts are available as standard in the PzC editor. Anyone can add these to any custom made scenario. It is also possible to combine scripts and thereby create very complex and unpredictable scenarios which would...

Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 - "what if..." scenario

Exactly, it is one of those things that I made the AI behave as a human would, that is for example actively searching for the players units at unexpected places. Then of course all the player notices is that the silly AI found his well hidden unit and thinks that it must be cheating, which is not th...

Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 - "what if..." scenario

Hi, Thanks for your feedback and detailed and very nice AAR! In the beginning you wrote something that games like this should be played at "neutral" i.e. medium difficulty, when the computer does not cheat to help any of the sides. I fully agree with this, however, in my opinion the preferred diffic...

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [AXIS] [Turn 59] - 1943

As far as I know, mainly the occupation troops had a lower degree of combat capability, the quality of soldiers (old, with no experience, etc.) low level of weapons. Therefore, they were not assigned to participate in important combat operations. These were conditional combat units. The so-called g...

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [ALLIES] [Turn 59] - 1943

And of course the Tirpitz is protecting the Axis iron ore supply from Norway plus threatening the Allied Arctic convoys to Arkhangelsk and Murmansk... Yes, and that's why Trondheim was made a valuable city: its possession represents the German control over the iron ore supplies from Sweden. Perpahp...

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [ALLIES] [Turn 59] - 1943

Why is the destruction of the Tirpitz such a huge deal, you bring it up in both of your plays as if it is crucial. What does its destruction do? The thing is, as long as the Tirpitz is in Trondheim it acts as a "fleet in being" thereby preventing the spawning of a small British task force in the No...

Oh I hope we are not witnessing an evolving turning point in the East right now... Not yet. But of course there were such thoughts. Partisans Soviets digging in Gorky. The Soviets are trying with all their might to prolong their agony and thereby annoy us greatly. Although it might seen a...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

I'm a old "panzer general"s guy who is playing and modding PG/PG 2 series since 1996. Which makes the two of us. I also played with PG (DOS) quite a lot in the previous century and I made my first mod for that game back in 2006: http://kukgen.tripod.com/ And question "Historical or The Game"...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

Unfortunately this mod is not compatible with any of the official campaigns. There are many changes in the equipment file with a few units completely missing which are present in the DLCs. Then when you get to a scenario where there is such a unit the game would crash. :( These units were typically ...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

This is a great mod but it is a heavily scripted. Thanks, and it has to be heavily scripted as the otherwise the AI would be unable to effectively deal with such a large and complex map. Especially if someone tries to think "out of the box" and attempts to follow an unhistorical strategy. Ho...

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [ALLIES] [Turn 41] - 1943

Looking at my screenshots, the ratio was almost 1 to 1. But the Axis had more powerful units, tanks with heroes and stars of experience. Indeed, and that's why I decided to press on at this point. But on the other hand, while the Soviets continuously got new units to replace their losses, the Germa...

As a matter of fact, in turn 39 I did make two tactical screenshots as well at Moscow, but only because I was expecting a possible snow in the following turn and so in that case I would remember the general strength of opposition covered by the snowfall:

Re: BATTLEFIELD EUROPE v1.94:MP - Strategy Guide [ALLIES] [Turn 40] - 1942

Excellent AAR indeed! As I wrote in the beginning, unfortunately I did not make too many screenshots, which now I regret a bit. I mainly only took screenshots of the casualties screen (and not even in every turn) so that I can compare the losses in the two opposing matches. However, every now and th...
