People should pick what they want to play with, I think this tourney is for fun more than competition. I'll have my choice tomorrow.
Absolutely right!

Re: The Ming and their enemies - team event

Maybe KiwiWarlord (KW) and Sugglebunnies (SB) can contact their players please?

So that I have no unfair advantage in selection of armies, I will let KW select for me. Anything is fine.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - team event

Which army book is this for? Ming in Crisis or Mandate of Heaven? As there are additional lists in MoH. Also are all the armies in the Pro Ming list available or does the chosen army have to have the word 'Ming' included ? i.e. are Joseon or any of the Rebels etc allowed ? Sorry for the lack of cla...

Re: New team event - are you interested?

@ahuyton Are you still waiting to see if we can get more players for this? Maybe I can try to rope Richard Yorke or others into it AKA ask around and see if any folks that have Sengoku that I know are interested. Just curious how many folks do we potentially have so far? We could start soon as we h...

Re: Failed to connect to server

I am having similar problems since yesterday (twice today). I get the 'waiting message' for 20 seconds then the message that the games had failed to upload. On trying to upload a second time, on both occasions, the enemy troops disappear from the map and I immediately get the failed message again an...

Re: New team event - are you interested?

Thanks to Fikabo, Pixel, GentlemanRanter and Eobrian2 for joining. We will be able to launch very soon. It is no problem if you have not played much SJ. We will try to arrange the games so that there is a mix, against experienced and newish players. I will ask the older hands to be helpful on the wa...

Sengoku Jidai team tournament

For those P&S players who also enjoy Sengoku Jidai, we are organising a modest team event. It is not really a tournament, more a series of games organised along team lines and we tally the scores of each team to find an overall winner. The games are friendly and relaxed in character without the stre...

Curious Light horse phenomenon

Maybe this is a known occurence, but I noticed in one of my pbem games a broken LH unit (following prolonged combat) with just 6 men left. It had fled a couple of times so it was surprising that it did not disperse, or maybe I am overlooking something? Not a problem, it just amused me and I had not ...

New team event

Last year we ran a nice team competition, which gave some meaningful games but without the stresses of a standard tournament. I have been discussing with Kiwiwarlord and we would like to do it again. The focus of the competition will be the Ming v its (many) enemies. Players will be in teams of 3 or...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

I see no reason to want major changes to a game that works very well and which rewards careful and skilful play. I find the balance of luck and skill to be about right. I know that when I play someone competent, like Pantherboy, Youngr or Klayeckles, they will tend to run rings round me. Their play ...

Re: Early Middle Ages: winners post your results here . . .

Division B ahuyton - Breton 411-579 AD won against Ulysisgrunt - Indian 546-599 AD, 53-28 My troops pathetically cowered in a big wood in the centre of the field while Danny's elephants, lancers and bowmen surged forward bravely. My ambushes and numbers won the game but credit is due to my pleasant ...

Division B

Morbio - Lombard 493-567 AD beat ahuyton - Breton 411-579 AD, 51-23

I think Morbio may have forgotten to report his glorious win of a couple of weeks ago, a tale of lancers and warbands cutting up poor Breton peasants

Re: Biblical: winners post your results here . . .

Division A

ahuyton (Phokian 550-461 BC) beat paulmcneil (Syracusan 550-461 BC) 60-43

A hard fought hoplite clash which was very tight until the last couple of turns when my armoured troops broke through the enemy line. Friendly game.

Re: Early Middle Ages: winners post your results here . . .

Division B ahuyton (Breton 411-579 AD) beat gamercb (Frank 496-599 AD) 45-17 After several disappointments with my Bretons, I finally managed a win in this friendly game. Credit to my opponent for playing aggressively even after losing the cavalry battle on one flank and faced with my Breton foot ru...
