Hello Captains!
 
Carrier Deck has been updated to version 1.1.2! This update brings a lot of improvements and changes, making the game better than ever! Now, you can launch missions in any order (you do not have to do them in the order of the mission queue). As a balancing act to that, the mission queue has been reduced to 3 slots.

  • Improved feedback for invalid launches
  • Improved mission launching mechanism where missions can be launched without needing to select units
  • Changed cargo missions to immediately add Logistics mission on landing
  • Missions no longer have to be launched in their order in the mission queue
  • Reduced number of slots in the mission queue to 3
  • Missions in queue show chevrons when the mission is ready to launch
  • Aircraft can turn around on elevators
  • Removed unnecessary loadout options from loadout radial on Greyhound, Hawkeye and Osprey
  • Improved damage effects on units
  • Changed Abort Mission behaviour to be a once off deferral rather than ditching the aircraft and launching a rescue mission
  • Fixed mouse clicks not being recognised on some occasions
  • Balanced Survival Mode
  • Fixed Achievements
  • Fixed various landing bugs
  • Fixed various mission queue bugs

Armored Brigade Dev Diary #1 - Artificial Intelligence

The Armored Brigade artificial intelligence (AI) is fully dynamic, which means that it can handle any scenario within the game parameters, without a need for any scripting from the scenario designer. This approach has been the basic foundation of the game. I've always found the procedurally generated game content fascinating, and that can be seen in the design philosophy of Armored Brigade.

In Armored Brigade, there's an undefined number of maps, units, environmental conditions, and so on. The system must build a readable representation, process the input and then produce output that creates a credible impression of intelligence that behaves in a realistic, unpredictable and challenging manner. That's quite a challenge indeed. A "chess AI", where you have a finite number of possible states, is out of the question.
