Division A
Aetius39 (Byzantines) defeats nyczar (Picts) 54-25
Picts put up a good fight, but once the Byzantine cavalry got mobile it was too hard to stop the flanking and the routs began. GG!

Division C
rpadilla1988 (German Imperial) defeats devoncop (Ilkhanid Mongol) 48-31
A fine battle with great hits, but alas the mogol Army had sustained grievous hits! Devoncop thus surrendered with honor.

Division D
Kroche (Carthaginian 262-236BC) defeated ggarynorman (Ptolemaic 55-30 BC) 61-35
A really great match. Carthaginian forces held the hill line on their left and centre and advanced into rough ground on their right for initial contact with the Ptolemaic forces. Ptolemaic forces sent more troops to engage the Carthaginian right and were in the ascendency. Carthaginan centre was forced into action to support their right flank and Elephant units had to engage in less than optimal circumstances to try to halt the well organised Ptolemaic line of advance. The shift of Ptolemaic focus to the Carthaginian right allowed the Carthaginian left to advance and put pressure on the weakened Ptolemaic right to try and save the centre. It looked like a lost cause as at least 2 Elephants should have been broken by legionaries on multiple occasions which could have won the battle for the Ptolemaics. Elephants did amazing and all survived when in previous, similar situations they broke. A really welcome win for Carthage, but commentators and ggarynorman will be scratching their heads as to the result. GG to ggarynorman who played a great match.

Division B
lydianed (Gepid) defeated snooky51 (Sassanid Persian with Kushan Allies) 48:21
A largely cavalry-only affair this one. The Gepids secured their left flank on a small marsh but pushed forward with numbers on the right and in the centre where numbers and missiles overcame the sassanid cavalry after some brutal fighting. Thanks for the game.

In a closely fought struggle, Nosy_Rat and his Lombard army have just prevailed over Questar17 and his Bosporans to win the championship by just 1 point. Well played Nosy_Rat.
