Division D
MikeMarchant (Roman 24-196 CE) defeated bomber23 (Ostrogoth 493-561 AD)) 52/24
Tough battle, with the Ostrogoth lancer charging in with their shieldwall backing up slowly. The Roman line held and then the auxiliaries swept out of the woods on the Ostrogoth's right flank, trapping an entire command on a hill. Slowly surrounded, the Ostrogoth lancers fought bravely until they fell to overwhelming numbers surroundign them, backed up by legionaries from the left side of the Roman centre. The mass brawl in the centre slowly went the Roman's way until that too started to fold. Then it was just a matter of slow attrition until the Ostrogoths had lost sifficient numbers to rout.
Good game, Bomber, and unlucky - it could easily have gone the other way.
Best Wishes
Mike

Karvon - Arab (Bedouin) 300-636 AD (Sassanid Persian 350-476 AD allies) defeated General Shapur - Ghaznavid 962-1187 AD 44-2 for a 4-0 score.
The Ghaznavid's surprisingly went light on elephants, opting for more cheap infantry formed up in the center with assorted horse on the wings. Arab lancers supported by foot and horse bow overwhelmed the opposing enemy horse making up the left wing. 2 Ghazi elephants stormed in and caused some chaos with their heroics before being shot down by Arab archers. Arab lancers flanked and routed enough of the Ghazi foot to seal the win.

General Shapur - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD defeats MikeMarchant - Roman 24 BC-196 AD 63 - 47
In a battle that seemed to be close right to the last few turns. The Grain shipments are secured at a fraction of their worth. The last few turns has me chasing around after incessant rallies, but, eventually they gave up. Thanks for a great game Mike.

edb1815 Arab (North Africa) 1000-1160 w/ Byzantine allies defeated Doyley50 Viking 900-1049: 58%-22%
Good game. The Arab foot held out just long enough for the Arab and Byzantine cavalry to cave in a flank. Good use of the mounted Huscarls by Doyley.

batesmotel (Khorasanian w Dailami allies) beat GeneralShapur (Ghaznavid) 44%-15%
I was able to collapse the Ghaznavid right flank and center including many elephants while the true Khorasanian heroic raw Muslim spearmen held out on the Khorasaian right flank long enough despite becoming outflanked and fragmented. Thanks for a good game.
