devoncop (Arkanians) beat Ulysisgrunt (Cypriots) by 62% to 47% in a brutal see sawing contest.
Both side's right flanks were heavily strengthened with their best quality troops though the Cypriot left was held largely by the weak Cypriot Medium foot albeit supported by several Heavy Chariots. The Chariots were then caught up in the ensuing collapse of the Cypriot right and this then spread to the centre as several Cypriot units on their right were held up in assisting their beleaguered compatriots in the centre just long enough for the Arkanians to take the contest.
A fine battle. Commiserations to my gallant opponent.

Nijis (Seleucids) barely defeats devoncop (Antigonids) 62-51.
Their cavalry ambushed and their center outmaneuvered, the Seleucids pulled out a bare win on the last turn through efforts of their medium infantry and the timely rally of their big valuable phalanxes.

Re: Anyone seen dkalenda?
If players can hold off claiming matches against dkalenda under the 7 day rule until first thing Monday morning then it would be appreciated. I hope everything is OK with him and maybe he will get back in contact over the weekend. Thanks.

SawyerK (Seleucids 205-167 BC) defeated General Kostas (Greek 460-281 BC) 47 to 12.
The Greek hoplites fought well but the Seleucid pikes punched through the center and turned before the Greeks had a chance to completely collapse the flank.

phoyle3290 - (Carthaginian 216-203 BC) defeats General Kostas - (Greek 460-281 BC) - 45-9
With a hilly, rough terrain, my MI were able to pull out the win. Even with the height advantage, the terrain made my opponent's HI useless against my Spanish MI. Thanks for the game!

Barrold713 (Pergamene) defeats General Kostas (Greek) 40-10
The match of hoplite vs phalanx and superior warbands did not go well for the Greeks in this one. Thanks for the match

Supervark (Lombard) agreed on a draw with uneducated (Jewish)
Not a single casualty in the whole battle. His army took one look at the Lombard lancers and fled for the hills and trees. Needless to say, the lancers were not going up the hills into the trees hence not a man down.

Re: Poll on new "Allies" feature
It would certainly help with trying to pick troops depending on the map layout. Case in point; I just finished a match where most of the map was hills and trees, his infantry army (Jewish) took one look at my cavalry army (Lombards) and promptly decamped to the said hills and trees. Nothing to do but camp outside the forest and agree on a draw as I did not have enough infantry for that type of terrain. With some allies, I might have been able to field more infantry to accommodate the terrain. So yes I am for allowing allies, as for two armies per nation not quite sold on that idea yet due to very similar armies cropping up.

harveylh - Ptolemaic 166-56 BC defeats XLegione - Seleucid 166-125 BC , 64-48.
With one turn to go, the Ptolemaic won a close, exciting game. The Ptolemaic C-in-C on an elephant was the key breaking four or five Seleucid units. The Ptolemaics appeared to be playing a game of whack-a-mole as the Seleucid units kept rallying. During the game, eight units including three pikes rallied from rout at least once. Fortunately, the Ptolemaics had enough troops in the right place that managed to re-break every unit but one.

Morbio - Assyrian 681-609 BC defeats harveylh -Achaemenid Persian 545-481 BC, 60-58. Tough game for the Persians as the armored Assyrian heavy infantry survived the missile deluge just long enough.
