You're the man, Erik! I am back in the fight on Etna North on turn 2. Hopefully my talent can keep me in the game past turn 3

Thank you for everything you do in the custom content world

US Navy Campaign version 2.0

Post by wrongplanet67 »

Hi Erik,

Many thanks for your campaigns. I already enjoyed many hours of pleasure with your late German Grand Campaign.

At the moment I am playing your US Navy Campaign version 2.0, however there are a few issues:

Pearl Harbor and Wake Island: I complete all primary and secondary objectives and only receive a draw, not a victory.
Coral Sea: stationary carriers see below. I am not sure about receiving a victory or a draw after completing all objectives.
Midway: I am shown the complete Japanese order of battle at the star of the game and the Japanese ships in range attack their own transports and support ships in the first round, sinking several of them.

Also in all scenarios the carriers remain stationary and are not trying to get away after the mair Japanese attack. The Japanese dive bomber and torpedo bomber aircraft show suicidal pursuit behavior: they keep following the carriers and by keeping evading them I can force them out of fuel and all of them crash out of fuel. I feel that they should return to their carriers for refueling.

I stopped playing at and did not complete Midway due to these issues.

Thanks for your continued effort!

Kind regards,

Dirk

Interesting about the U.S Naval campaign as I just finished his great "Wacht Am Rhein" with not a problem at all and was getting ready to download that one next.
Erik will fix his bugs as he's very attentive to detail.
Good luck and give him some time and it'll be fixed and then I want to give it a shot.

Erik
So now I am on to Germany East 41-42. Got through the first few scenarios just fine. But when I got to Zolotonosha, after 4 turns it gave me a Major victory. Though I did like the way my forces were deployed, I think it is a little early to claim victory :P
The Germans clearly do not have control of two of the objectives

Just wanted to pass this on. I reloaded and gave myself an extra turn (#overtime 1), but it still gave me the Major victory on the 4th turn. I am using the 3/15/19 version of the campaign.

Update: After messing around with the saved turn 3 files, and starting the scenario over. Best I can tell, It seems to be triggered when I take both Shramkivka and Velyka. Just trying to give as much information as I can.

Can someone help me with Templeton's Crossing mission in Kokoda Trail campaign? I just don't see how to kill 20 fortified enemy units within 20 turns. Even without supply and on normal difficulty they refuse to die :D

I've made my way to Kiev 43. I knew I wouldn't be able to prevent the loss of a Romanian or Auxiliary unit but I was surprised when the notice came up that I had also failed the "Do not lose any Luftwaffe units" Secondary Objective on the very first turn even though no units were lost. I verified it by running the scenario again without deploying any units, the same failure occurred.

Well, it was a lot of fun playing the Germany East campaigns so thank you very much Erik for your excellent work! Looking forward to trying some of your other campaigns.

Regards

You already have the first tester :!: 8)
As a well-known enthusiast of the US Army (and awaiting Liberation DLC) I'll play it with great curiosity

You're welcome, Kondi.

Make sure you always answer yes to open the specialisation tab after each scenario.
There's a bug in the campaign editor preventing players from opening this screen manually.

US campaign feedbacks

Post by kondi754 »

I don't know if it's appropriate to leave Marines and Marine Raiders available for purchase in ETO. I also have doubts when it comes to ships and US navy aircrafts (Wildcats or Avengers may be aux units during Torch only)
The second thing - Erik, the 2nd mission is still just a training but you're trying to destroy the player at all costs... (BTW a good puzzle to solve  )

The Marine Raiders are a substitute for Ranger units.
But, good point about leaving out certain unit types.

The 2nd training mission is performed with live ammo :D

Did you play the Casablanca mission on the 5th level?

..and with quite the few resources. You could add a few.
Take cover with AT-support in the woods and let them come to you, that worked for me, with minimal repairs to be done.

Yeah, could use a few more turns, to be honest. Only a minor victory on my first try. Those french tanks are really hard to kill (with neverending repairs "à la Erik", of course  )

Did you use cheat codes? (Except extra turns)
It seems to me that this first mission is exaggerated.
Imagine how it will look Omaha beach scn.

I started playing at 3 and it's very nice (but quite demanding) indeed
Maybe it's better not to change, I will have something to do in autumn and winter (play on the 4th and 5th level)

But seriously, it would be useful to have 2 additional infantry units in the landing zone north-east of Casablanca (I'm thinking about the main landing area next to the city)
But can you do so that 1 additional unit appears on level 4, and the next one at 5th?

I always add player reports to my various to-do lists. Appreciate the feedback.
It may take awhile before I actually have time to do anything about the issues though...

No cheats. You just can't play Eriks stuff using the same tactics as vanilla campaigns. An AI faction with actual RP income has to be fought differently. Wounding them does nothing, you'll always have to go for the kill. Always.

But.... I've played it out of my mod, so I think using the vanilla version should make things easier as most of the damage to my ships was actually done by land arty and the two forts in the south. The enemy sub would be useless in vanilla, too - and in my mod it almost sank one of my carriers.

I think a "Major Vicotry" should be possible with a retry and a bit different core force. The enemy airforce is negligible and with the B-17 as bonus you've got yourself one hell of a dangerous "mobile arty" unit. You have to love those flyingfortress thingies.
Erik2 wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 9:40 am So you guys want more resources and more turns in Casablanca?
But yeah, the Casablanca mission definitely needs some more turns (3-5) or CP.
I think the income's fine here. But you should add some RP after the first mission IMO. The units are weak and inexperienced in the beginning and require expensive repairs often - everything's "expensive" if you have nothing in the bank  . New units have to be bought, etc. etc.

Those french tanks are super sturdy. The US towed AT units were completely useless. Even the baking trays the Yanks call "tanks" were more of a joke. I've really missed my German equipment...

But I'm still playing the final missions in Afrika Korps actually, just wanted to see what this campaign's all about and tried the first scens real quick. No more sand, please....
I think I'll rather finish my "Wacht am Rhein" playthough...
