One query on the plague in Perugia. Is the Papal army already gone or do they have this turn to move out?

Unlike famine, plague is resolved immediately. The army is gone.ahuyton wrote:One query on the plague in Perugia. Is the Papal army already gone or do they have this turn to move out?

Not to harp on this, but I think Mcwar needs to commit to being an active player or not. He never answered a pm several weeks ago... diplomatic snub,? or like he has told others he doesn’t have time”.
No offense to Mcwar, but someone has already inquired about an open slot...

Since we have a replacement waiting in the the wings, I sent Mcwar a PM asking his intentions.TheGrayMouser wrote:Not to harp on this, but I think Mcwar needs to commit to being an active player or not. Can we settle this today because tomorrow is the last day for negotiations.... otherwise I can't fill the owner of Genoa with vast, convincing quantities of anti Milano propaganda, not to mention tales of their atrocious bloodlust against peaceful Imperial subjects!

TheGrumpyDoge is taking over Genoa. I had to wait for his reply to my PM offer as he is on the other side of the world from me. Josh is going to read the rules and will start making diplomatic contact. I'll extend the order submission deadline to the end of Saturday (+2 days), and process the orders on Sunday. Feel free to send replacement orders if an active Genoa changes your plans.
I've updated the Summer 1499 Record sheet (page 5) with the new contact information.

Re: Italian Wars Campaign Gameplay
The Summer 1499 Expense sheet (page 5) has been updated.
Here is the Summer 1499 campaign map with the movements, sieges, bribes, and conversions noted.
There is one battle in Ancona. The Papal Fleet 1 and the Turk Army 1 both advance into Ancona. Die roll to see who arrives first (1-3 Turks): 4 = Papacy
The Papacy sets up the Pike & Shot Campaigns battle, as an Open Battle. The game results are due 26 Feb 2018 (15 days)

Here is a sneak peek at the Fall 1499 start map. A lot of territory has changed hands. It still has to be updated with the Battle of Ancona results.

Re: Italian Wars Campaign Gameplay
hey guys what do the two pick axes at ferrara mean?
Re: Italian Wars Campaign Gameplay
It's being besieged by Venice. Will fall next season if the siege is maintained.
Re: Italian Wars Campaign Gameplay
Another noob question, what happens if you dont pay back the money lenders in time?
Re: Italian Wars Campaign Gameplay
Assassination (AKA Bankrupt) Effect:Players may “borrow” ducats from the Money Lenders and add them to their Treasury. The total number of ducats borrowed by any one player
may never exceed 25 ducats at one time (not counting interest). Borrowed ducats may be for a period of one or two years. For instance, a one-
year loan taken out in Summer 1501 would have to be repaid with interest in Summer 1502. One-year loans are at 20% interest on the amount
borrowed, and two-year loans are at 50% interest (all fractions are rounded up). Full amounts, including all interest, must be repaid even if the
repayment is made early. If not paid at this time, the major power unable to meet its debts will immediately suffer the same effects as if the player
was assassinated. After this, the debt doesn’t have to be repaid, but the major power may never again borrow ducats from the Money Lenders.
all the victim’s military units are paralyzed for that one turn. All orders are automatically changed to Hold orders,
although they may still be Supported by other players. They may not be used to put down rebellions, and the effects of siege are ignored on
fortified cities that these units may be besieging. Any of the victim’s Garrison units that are being besieged will immediately be removed from the
map. Some of the victim’s provinces may take advantage of the situation to rebel. Consult the Rebellion Table and roll a die for each controlled
province.

terrain choice is 'pot luck'.
Let me know if you have any problems with the set-up and I can adjust.

The Battle of Ancona 1499
If the fleet loses then it retreats where it came from: Upper Adriatic.
If the army loses then it cannot retreat to were it came from because it involved sea transport. Romagna, Urbino, and Aquillia are all empty and valid retreat provinces, so I will randomly choose one if necessary.

The Pope is considering a new life in Caledonia as his armies are lost to plague, invasion and battle
it was a pleasant game nonetheless and very instructive.
