Roll Call 2018
...Will be the 7th/8th April in our usual venue of Cranfield.
For FoGR the questions to ask are :
- whether we want this to be a 15mm or a 25mm period
- what sort of theme (if any) would players want
(Last year we ended up with 8 players in a 25mm event, so I suppose the supplementary question is how many people would be looking to play?)
25mm FoGR
Position Name No Team 1 2 3 4 5 Total
1 Stephen Stead 70 23 22 25 4 74
2 Simon LeRay-Meyer 67 25 3 18 16 62
3 Paul Kitcher 66 3 24 7 23 57
4 Keith Spedding 69 19 7 9 21 56
5 Richard Jeffrey-Cook 65 2 20 16 17 55
6 Dene Green 64 22 18 0 9 49
7 Ray Boyles 62 0 5 25 2 32
8 Robert Medcraft 68 6 1 0 8 15

I hope to be able to play but there are a couple of things that may get in the way. I will play either 15 or 25 m.

Hi,
I would prefer 25mm please, but would still come if it becomes 15mm.

G'day
I'm in.
25mm would be my choice as it's nice to get the big toys out at least once a year.

OK, so 25mm... any theme, or are we in a world of "Open" now?

Re: Roll Call 2018
Themes are trickier with 25mm as people don't have so many 25mm armies. On the other hand it's always better to have a theme. The one that would be easiest is probably TYW/ECW.

Re: Roll Call 2018
So,
Last year we had an open 25mm period.
Shall we go for a theme this year? Maybe a classic 30 years war period?

And Ben makes 6
Although I only have Pike and Shot at 25mm so an unusual theme will be difficult

Re: Roll Call 2018
Folks, we have an event!
Hopefully that will encourage more folks to come out of the woodwork.
Again, on the assumption its a sensible period, I have an army or two to loan if needed ..

Re: Roll Call 2018
I note that no theme has been set for this as yet.
As it is 25mm I think it would probably be best to leave it as Open.
Alas, I cannot make it as it clashes for me

Re: Roll Call 2018
I'm inclined to agree with Nik - open is the best bet.
If there are no strong dissenting voices in the near future, I'll change the website to say "open" early next week.

Re: Roll Call 2018
Tim,
That was the basis I booked. I do not have a wide selection of 25mm armies as opposed to 15 mm armies.

Re: Roll Call 2018
I was late deciding to enter this year and big-toys FoGR is now full. So I am first reserve. However, they MAY find more places if two more people enter. Is there anybody else who wants to play?

Re: Roll Call 2018
So there are 6 of us and currently 4 games. But each shouldn't last more than 2.5-3 hours due to being so close at 25mm rather than 15mm.
Any chance we can fit in 5 games so everyone plays everyone. (just a thought) maybe 3 slightly shorter games Saturday. Would also make the draw easier as could be preset. 9-11:45, 12-2:45, 3-5:45??

Simon
Stephen
Any comments or other ideas.

Re: Roll Call 2018
It seems unlikely that there will be any more tables made available for FoGR.rayd wrote:I was late deciding to enter this year and big-toys FoGR is now full. So I am first reserve. However, they MAY find more places if two more people enter. Is there anybody else who wants to play?
Ray
So as First Reserve I will submit a list in advance and will attend on the Saturday morning in case of a "no-show".
