Re: UK Rankings
In an annual tradition who's origins are now lost in the mists of time (but which may actually date back to around 2007-8), the final standings in the BHGS Annual Championship for FoG:AM have now been sent to us for publication, somewhat grudgingly it must be said, by rankings compiler and bitterly disappointed 4th-place finisher Dave Ruddock.
Congratulations go out to Robert Taylor of Halifax for his first Championship Win, with a very impressive score of 92 from only 5 competitions entered!
We would also wish to spare a thought at this time for Andy McKay and Dave Hoey, the other two players from Halifax listed in these rankings. Dave and Andy finished 94th and 95th respectively, which presumably means that their participation in any Halifax club tournament (where the contestants will be them plus the current UK #1) may well end up as a rather brief, yet also chastening experience for them both.

Re: UK Rankings
Latest rankings are now available on the BHGS website.
It would appear that the latest BHGS gimmick is that of telepathy as they seem to suggest that Rob Taylor will still be #1 in 2019. Mystic Tim is apparently available for parties, after dinner speaking and the like for a reasonable fee....

Re: UK Rankings
Isn't this where Phil traditionally chips in with some comment along the lines of "we could all be playing FoGAM until the turn of the next millenium and you'll still never end up top of the rankings again Ruddock" ?dave_r wrote:Latest rankings are now available on the BHGS website.

Possibly. Although, I'd probably respond that I got bored after being top for more than a year. I'd then ask Phil how long he was top formadaxeman wrote:Isn't this where Phil traditionally chips in with some comment along the lines of "we could all be playing FoGAM until the turn of the next millenium and you'll still never end up top of the rankings again Ruddock" ?dave_r wrote:Latest rankings are now available on the BHGS website.

Of much more interest than the squabble at the top, it seems the lovely Mrs Fairhurst has now caught me up and is no doubt poised to go past me

Re: UK Rankings
I've just completed the latest set of rankings. These include:
Burton, PAWS, Belgarum and Schiltron. I've still got no Derby scores - despite being promised them by Mr Lunn.
It's all change at the top, with the scourge of Yorkshire, Mr Taylor finally getting ousted. The Bridesmaid is also back in position.

Re: UK Rankings
With the 2016-17's "Race to the Big Prize" in he FoGAm Championship now well and truly underway, this edition of the FoGAM rankings sees a spectacular fall from grace for Robert Taylor, dropping from 1st to 10th and being well and truly leapfrogged in the process by the ever-reliable Mr Pete Dalby.
Pete has been a regular visitor to the top of the rankings for many years now - and lets face it, we all wish we carried our years even half as well as he manages to do with his, as this rare colour photo from some years ago clearly demonstrates.
(History fans will also no doubt be delighted to know that the BHGS Archive is gradually being restored to working order. Most recently the full results from every Britcon held since 2006 have now been uploaded onto this site - including the first ever FoGAM event at Britcon 2007 - so, this is your big chance to see just how good Pete was even way back then !)

Re: UK Rankings
http://www.bhgs.org.uk/news/rankings-update
Both the L'Art de la Guerre and FoGAM rankings have now been updated to capture results from all competitions in the 12 months prior to The BHGS Challenge @ UKGE in a couple of weeks.
The L'Art de la Guerre Rankings have now moved onto a new "best 6 results" system, which has seen some significant movements at the top of the table - resulting in some bad news for Dave Allen and his "attend every event going" strategy. With an very impressive 21 events held in the UK in the past 12 months there are now coincidentally 21 players out of the total pool of 126 who benefit from the full 6 competitions counting in their score, and 7 more with 5 entries as of today.
The FoGAM rankings see Phil Powell clamber into the top 10, and Paul Bartlett sneaks up to 3rd with a stack of points up for grabs this year at Challenge as the run-in towards Britcon continues. With only 3 Reigate players now appearing in the FoGAM rankings the group of players from the "Northern Powerhouse" of the MAWS club is now very much head to head with the "Southern Powerhouse" of Plymouth in contesting the spiritual leadership of the UK-based FoGAM world.

I've just sent the latest rankings to the BHGS Politburo for publication on their fine website. These are the last rankings before Britcon when the race for the top concludes!
It's all change in the top 10! For added spice I've included how many points those players in the top 20 got at Britcon last year, so you can work out where you can finish dependent upon your Britcon final placing.
