Does anyone have a scenario for Civitate, Normans vs Lombards & the Pope?

Sadly no, though I suspect that the Pope would not qualify as a BG...

There was a scenario for this in the old SPI PRESTAGS game "Viking". It might provide a reasonable basis for FOG, as it does differentiate tactical troop types. I will look to see if I have it.

In Wikipedia I found some information about in Italian: click here, anyway you can find a map and a simply list of troops which you should been able to understand. If you need some translation contact me (but I have not enough time to translate the whole page :oops: ).
