Thanks - nice review :)

Can you tell me what you mean about the Shift key? You dont have to keep it pressed down. I've never touched it to be honest - I fly by the mouse only, and only use the keyboard when I need to see the bomb drop view.

Just like I said in the article, I let the shift key go, the prop stops turning, and I head down un-powered.

That is not the case with the netbook, it does keep running, but runs pretty slowly when there is a lot of action.

I'd love it if I didn't have to keep the key pressed, as it is a contortion show firing rockets, or getting over to the down arrow to get the bomb-sight.

I have my other hand on the X-52 Pro joystick, and cannot change the programming on it.

Do you know of any way to fix it?

This is very odd. Can you tell me your machine specs and we can investigate.

No idea, eh?

Maybe I'll try the demo and see if that is any different...

___EDIT___

I tried the AC.exe from the demo, no help. I think it may be related to the fact that I am using a joystick on the Win7 game machine.

It is a Saitek X-52 Pro. The demo plays great on my Win 2008 server using a mouse, and I don't have to keep the key shift pressed.

I am going to try mouse control and see if that helps at all.

Ahh maybe it is joystick related - I'll ask the team to check that out. I missed that if you mentioned it before.

Yes sure it's joystick related, if you will play with mouse this problem should disappear. Do you have on jostick special axis to control speed? It seems that game not properly detect if you have this special axis.

Yup, that would be it.

Changed to mouse control, no issues.

As to speed control on a different axis, oh yes, as the X-52 is a HOTAS and has a totally separate controller for the throttle.

The ability to change control inputs would fix all that you know...
