Re: To Forge an Empire 2.0
Another bad day in Sparta.
macsen (Later Alexandrian Macedonian) 9/37 defeated Grudgebringer (Classical Spartans) 39/32
Alexander maneuvered his army on to a hill with a lot of broken ground on the left facing the Spartan camp in the corner of the map. The Spartans faced being slowly shot to death (Thermopylae any one?) so were forced to engage in to broken ground and up hill. The Rhomphas were particularly effective and the sperior pikes had a field day. The Spartans fought bravely but were eventually broken and annihilated.
Better luck next time Grudge
Cheers

My Hindus (9/47) beat Turk's Greeks (32/32).

Perhaps replacing the dice rather than the leader would help more!Turk1964 wrote:Yes just checked my FC was killed in action. We are hoping to replace the fallen leader with someone more capable.

Not much hope of that the army was cursed by Indian witches burning elephant droppings

A better day for Spartans
Aristides (Later Spartans) 27/48 vs Greetings44 (Early Carthaginians) 47/42
Both camps were lost.

I'm fairly certain there is something in the rules about the use of witches and elephant dung (quickly amends rules)Aristides wrote:You saw that?! Hmm... Now the secret's out...

Re: To Forge an Empire 2.0
Now 18 days in still no challenges from Fedem and Batesmotel, only one from Radio. Everyone else has made challenges and most of the games finished.macsen wrote:Eight days into the season and Fedem, Batesmotel, iandavidsmith, Grudgebringer (busted shoulder, pffft), Deeter, Greetings44 and myself have made no challenges. What a bunch of slackers!
Radio has made one challenge and is therefore only moderately slack .
I get it, LOEG and all is keeping us busy so will give it another week before I start pm'ing people, including myself .
cheers

Must say the Spartans cunfused me a bit too.Aristides wrote:While i'll not deny this victory, i must deny its existence within ghe realm of this campaign... Now I'm confused does this mean I got off lightly. I wondered why you hadn't posted the result, I presumed you were overwhelmed with LOEG activity.Greetings44 wrote:Greetings chaps
I'm staying with what I've got, two challenges posted for Grudgebringer and Aristides pw Spring

Re: To Forge an Empire 2.0
Confusion abounds... I thought our games were from several test games I had started at the same time, mostly with greeks and romans - you 'also' played one of my roman ones (the draw that we played at the same time). But it's certainly possible I answered your Spring Challenge with the wrong army. Unfortumately I have no Spartans - Indians plus Persian mercenaries. I assume the game will be called 'no-game'...

Greetings44....you bested my Classical Spartans. you might have got us confused
Re: To Forge an Empire 2.0
radio (Lydians) 31/39 vs iandavidsmith (Greco-Bactrians) 34/31
Bactrian C-in-C was killed and their camp was looted.
It was a really close, hardfought game.
