The Ghaznavid army was spread out while the Arab army was huddled togeather to the east.

The Ghilman dismounted and together with the Dailami was able to rout the enemy in the rough lands before the Elelphants
and cavalry of the Ghaznavid's could redirect and massacre the arab's feeble Cavalry
