Might be worth sending a private message to your opponent as well.

Also go to private messages, board preferences and tick the boxes that specify players will also receive emails.

Just thinking that maybe some players are struggling with their English. Are there players out there who are fluent/very good at French, German, Spanish, Italian, etc with of course English. Hopefully they'll be able to help.

Would be good to know for the future with reference to other competitions.

Might be worth posting something here in french etc so players will know whom they can talk too.

For example, " Hi, I'm Guido and I can help players who may be a bit stuck, in Italain, French etc"

Just a thought, hope you don't mind Pete.

IMPORTANT

I have just looked at the matches waiting to be picked up on the FOG screen. There seem to be 5 from the tournament. They are . . .

claymore v kilroy (I have been in touch with them today and they will be starting shortly)
Lysimachos v klayeckles (reminder sent to klayeckles by Lysimachos)
tullius v mortonj
ianiow v flatsix518 (edit: flatsix518 has started the game today)
Fedem v kme37158 (edit:kme37158 has started the game today)

In each case the first-named player has put the challenge on so tomorrow morning (Thursday) I will send PMs to klayeckles, mortonj, flatsix518 and kme37158 asking them to start the game asap - unless, of course, the challenge is picked up overnight. If there are any other games that I have missed where a player is waiting to start then please let me know.

Indeed, I won initiative and have deployed, the ball is back with JocaRamiro.

I think klayeckles may have been in touch. Can you confirm please, Lysimachos? I am going to give mortonj until Sunday to start his match with tullius. In the meantime I am starting to look for a replacement so that everyone will have played in a first round match.

Open MultiPlayer Matches?

I just completed all the campaigns on the iPad version and now wanted to try online challenges, but none of them are open so I don't have any choices to play.

Do you guys just trade challenges internally on these forums? How can I join in?

Triarius, where are you? You accepted my challenge, I won initiative and deployed, and the ball has been in your court for a few days now? I sent a PM yesterday, but have had no reply as yet.

Talk to me,

Marc

Important

If there is anyone else in a situation like Babyshark or MatteoPasi where an opponent has gone "missing" for a bit, it is very helpful to me if you post a similar message. For this tournament to work properly I have to keep it moving with each round lasting about 2 weeks. I will adjudicate against players for very slow play if it is necessary. Thanks.

Jolly good, Lysimachos. And mortonj has now started his match with tullius so every game is in progress now. I am hoping to do the 2nd Round draw next Saturday 22nd September and I will give a little bit extra time to allow players to finish their first round matches (probably until 24/9).

You have come to the right part of the forum but this is actually a tournament thread. No problem. If you look at the other topics in this section you will see one for "Historical battles" which may be of interest to you - or you could start your own thread and say what sort of battle you would like to play. And if you visit this part of the forum regularly you will see that new competitions start frequently and you just need to put your name down when the organiser asks for players. Finally, you can also put your own "open" challenges on the system. You will soon get to know a lot of the players. Good luck!
