Not sure what you mean - the EAP can be purchased just like any other product from its product page.skyrider wrote:How does a guy get on the beta list?

Re: BA 2 - Eastern Front Development Forum
Can't believe no one answered this what with all the 'beta' testers on here.
A simple breakdown:
Alpha tester is first line tester - they get to play the first 'draft' thus highlighting good points/bad points of games and checking for bugs and graphical glitches etc. they tend to be I.t. Types and try to use varied hardware types.
Beta testing is the next stage - playing the games in second stage - pre-release - quite a few games are released now almost in beta stage - hence patch after patch getting released after the games release - in the older days the testing would take place over several months from game start to conclusion due to the lack of ability to adjust anything after release - where as these days it just gets thrown out there once they have something marketable and then the idea is 'we'll fix the problems as they arrive'...........bone the rise of pc gaming for this though next gen console gaming and the race to grab the pennies has made the problem a lot worse.
Most games - as you notice with BA still have bugs - this is mainly to do with the add-ons or multiplayer facility of the games- I'm not an I.t. Guy but most problems seem to be some sort of server compatibility problem...............
In short developers have become lazy, they get the paying customer to do a lot of the work for them, but having said that everyone who plays games dreams of alpha or beta testing new releases as it gives 2 things - you get to play the game before anyone else and 2 you get beneficial 'perks' from the developers.
If you ever want to become a beta tester - the forum board for particular games - such as this one are the best place to start as the developers all follow their own forum boards as this is where they get future ideas from and have the opportunity to take a reactive course as soon as problems arise - get into the modding side - making your own maps etc.

Suggestion for BA2-MP
[*] Keeping the last view for each player
As playing chess, each player use to see the table board from his position.
Now, BA load the turn and shows the map at his default position and zoom, the replay starts and you see the opponent turn from a view you're not used to view creating a little confusion.

Pip: Is this the forum to voice opinions on the game as a BA2 beta-tester? I had some comments, but wanted to make sure they're in the right place.

Re: BA 2 - Eastern Front Development Forum
Careful my friend,.....you just ticked off a lot of developers with these words. I know that wasn't you intent,..but developers do get a lot of grief.protectivedaddy wrote:Can't believe no one answered this what with all the 'beta' testers on here.

Actually, developers are supposed to write the test plans before writing even one line of code.
Then, write the code and perform a quick unit test to make sure it does what it's supposed to do based on their change.
However, they're not supposed to run regression tests, sanity checks, system tests,.....these are all the QA Engineer's job.
Yes,..it is true that a lot of companies try to cheap and cut costs but combining Developers and QA into one role,...but that usually ends in disaster.
The whole Alpha and Beta testing is not to shove off all testing onto the customer,.....it is, as you say, to get code onto many varied systems that a single company can't replicate.

Slitherine isn't one of those company's. If I could name one of the back, my first choice is ea (Betafield 4)

Assuming you have purchased the EAP it will inform you via the launcher whether you need to update to the latest version and take you automagically to the download pagedobrodukh wrote:Hi. Tell me where you can download the latest version of Battle Academy 2 (Early Access)?
