Sept ---Oct 20th 1941 fair

In Russia , we half encircle Moscow ! But since bad weather's coming , it is impossible to take Moscow in 1941 . But we won't retreat even if we will lose the units which sucessfully across the river ! With the best defense bonus & well experienced unit , we hope they will hold as long as possible ! Russian lost many units during 1941's summer , no massive winter attack will be happened in the coming severe winter . Just hold until next spring !

Meanwhile , Axis fleet sucessfully embush the RN's escort fleet ! several DD & BB sunk ! Before USA comes , Altlantic is ours !

Severe winter comes ! Supermax launch attack at Finland direction ! He want to kick Finland out during this severe winter ! We transfer Finland troops & Luftwaffe back to Finland to set up defense .

Meanwhile the units around Moscow is facing attack from red army in this terrible season . But it seems the red army 's effectieness & quality not strong enough to achive much .

Everywhere slience until spring comes in 1942 .

May 8th 1942 fair

Axis launch GS4.0 case blue & Typhon at the sunrise of May 8th 1942 ! ! :D

In northern front , Axis cavalry group outflank Moscow's right wing & conquer Volka for a supply point ! Mean while our panzer conquer Tambov & will outflank Moscow's left wing ! It seems no USSR FTR provide aircover for the defense troops ! We will just bomb & kill !

In southern front, USSR only left a corp in Stalingrad (it means they give it up ) . We take Stalingrad at the beginning of case blue & conquer Maikop at same time ! Maikop is so important since we cost much oil each turn ! Very nice progress !

But besides Moscow , we did not find the mainbody of red army ! especially the elite guards & mechs ! Where are they ???

Meanwhile , our subs continue attack allies convoys which with no allies navy escort ! :)

The Typhoon & case blue continue !

Our northern group sucesfully outflank the Moscow's right wing & close to Gorki ! Since there are many forest south from Moscow , we send our panzer group to Kuibychev direction & find some Red army enforcement there . We also send another group of troops outflank the left wing of Moscow . If Red army won't try to break out from this situation this turn , we will encircle the Moscow group within a limited area & cut off the link with Omsk !

In Cacausus , our lead troop close to Grozny , no troop guard the oilfield ! We did find a large number of Red army standing on the mountain & waiting for our offense . We really have not got enough power here to against them !

For now , Moscow is the most important target ! the mainbody of Luftwaffe will support this mission !

This looks good for the Axis. How high are the Red Army's casualties? Where is Supermax's main defence line in the East?

the new Axis Barbarossa is nearly impossible to stop, an easy run up to it and lots of CAV is close to impossible to stop, lots of new thinking required for allies

the present game engine is almost balance . I think the only problem is the Cavalvy ! It is quite unreasonable to have such a big group of cavalvy as Axis in 1941 ! there should be millions of war horse !!! what will they eat ? How to supply them ? So it seems need some proper adjustment ! :)

yes Cavalry it needs the Para treatment :-)
who remembers dozens of Allied para's descending on Fortress Europa :-)
they need limiting for sure, way to powerful in Barbarossa, and slowed down a bit as well

The number of horses would not have been the problem, nor supplying them. The Wehrmacht relied heavily on horses for logistics throughout the war, and Operation Barbarossa started with 700,000 horses! Apparently, horses were also one of the few resources available to the Wehrmacht that showed little or no shortage until the very end of the war.

The problem with cavalry units is that while being mobile, they do not form good frontline combat units. They are suited for reconnaissance and fighting partisans in difficult terrain. If they would have been effective against entrenched infantry in frontline combat, I am sure the Wehrmacht would have made them an integral part of their doctrine (given the shortage of vehicles).

I thought the war horse are quite different from the horse for logistic jobs . The logistic horses were usually stay behind the front , but war horse should be the lead troop . In real history , the logistic burden was always the weakpoint of Axis in Russia . If they would have to supply more additional food for millions of horse at the fronts which move forward rapidly everyday ! It would be a total disaster . :)

An important turn !

1 Red army launch counterattack from Gorki & Grozny ! Kill several Axis units & cut off two corp's supply . We rescue the corp & maintain the circle around Moscow . meanwhile we also concentrate our soutern group to prepare for a battle with the Caucasus strike group .

2 Our Cavalvy conquer Archangel !! No convoy to USSR anymore !

3 Allies dow Vichy France & second front set up .

We will try our best to weaken USSR before Allies arrive Europe !

unexpected counterattack around Moscow !! Max give up northern defence line along the river & use their main strategetic reserve group including whole USSR wounded airforce to launch a typical Max style offense ! Several Axis units destroyed & they reset the link from Moscow to Omsk ! It is really unacceptable for us ! It is obvious that If we conquer Moscow & destroy the Moscow group , USSR will be no longer a threat in 1943 maybe 1944 . We try our best to cut off the link again & concentrate more troops there for the final victory of this fatal campaign !!

Meanwhile , our Omsk direction branch conquer 2nd Baku ! Oil is so important for our massive attack in Russia !

After bloody fight around Gorki , Red army give up the mission to rescue Moscow ! Moscow group is cut off from Omsk at least in this year . We cut off the Moscow group into two piece , one of them are out off supply . They have to depend on theirselves with no enforcement ,no airsupport ,no supply no hope ........ just like the 6th group in Stalingrad in real history in 1942......

Meanwhile we conquer Kubychev & an important iron mine ! USSR's GDP is down rapidly . Maybe only 100 pp per turn without any convoy ......

Moscow encircled group comes to its last minutes ! The pocket is becoming smaller. meanwhile our lead panzer arrive at 5 hex from Omsk ! It is empty !!! I regret not to bring a para at the moment !!

in France , allies land some troops there . But it won't be a serious problem since we have enough reserve power for this ....
