@Cybvep: Thx for analyzing. But those results are due a bad weather and some unlikely combat results, not based on my ability.

Turn 14 | 18. Mai 1940

Pre-Turn

No important messages, so we open up with the enemy activities.

Image

As awaited all our units around Paris was destroyed. But the enemy had no capacity for attack on the Capital of France. Also no attacks on Rouen - probably one more reference for accept Vichy.

The Wehrmacht stocks up the corps by The Hague and brings one more for the assault - Holland should fall soon, probably together with France next turn?

Image

In the Med we are surprised by the enemy again. The Italians did nothing - probably Mussolini is sick and all generals have vacations due this? The Corps in Lybia wasn’t stocked up. Italian AirForce got no orders and wasn’t also reinforced. Strange things… Our orders stays the same: ATTACK!

Post-Turn

Image

But back to France ... In these final hours, in the throes of the French, we can only try to inflict as much damage as possible. As target we choose the decimated tank corps by Paris and the Stuka-squadron by Brussels.

The attacks of the RAF being intercepted by enemy FTR, the results was ok, but not really perfect. Despite the numerical superiority we fight worse than germans due their better organisation.

Cause we don’t see a chance for Sealion this year, we decide to get through a first big ship convoi in the Med: 1 BB and the Mech Corps in Plymouth should be escorted by 3 DDs. (But only one DD is planed for the Med, the other goes back to Atlantic). Also one Sub is on the way.

Image

Here the land attacks on the german tank. We get bad dices and miss to kill him. This should be the last action of the French on land.

Image

Back to the Med again. The french Navy seems to be completely demoralized. We are very dissatisfied with their performance in this game!

However... Our DD finds the enemy Sub by the recon mission on Tobruk. RAF FTR also attacks the Sub. The rest of the fleet couldn’t find the other sub.

In the port of Benghazi we spot the reinforcements of the Italians - but fortunately only a GAR!

At land… one moment…

Image

… some better… Our attack at land is fairly miserable. Despite the raid of our CV we miss to destroy the it. corps! Very annoying! As we know, the italian AirForce is not in Africa, our tank corps press in as a wedge into the "defensive line" of the Italians. We get no worry - it cannot be destroyed, just damaged.

Our mechanized and infantry corps close ranks and secure the flanks. At first we have to clear up the fields, before we atack the fortress.

Image

Here the completely MED in one picture. For the case of no Vichy we (repair the french FTR in England and) cargo all GARs in Africa (except in Tunis) to get the PPs next turn for the Brits. ;)

Image

Damned, no tank counter by the germans! :(

Turn 15 | 07. Juni 1940

Pre-Turn

Image

Paris falls almost historically. Vichy was accepted by the Germans. And some other events was triggered:

Image

We hope, that the operation Dynamo could save our Corps in Rouen.

Image

Vichy and Syria are our potentional targets – but to different points of time of course! Let us see on the map:

Image

Rouen is british – so it means, the corps was saved! No attacks on the city.

It’s funny: Germans attacks London, probably with the STRB, which lost one step. Not so funny were the results of DogFight: 1:4! However, British pilots have fulfilled their task, we are satisfied with their work! RAF should be relocated now, to minimize the loses.

The Hague hold the assaults this turn. We have to reinforce the Dutch corps, but it should be probably the last time.

Image

In the MEd we get again some interesting actions!

At first we see the italian AirForce damaged – 2 steps was lost, but no targets to see. Attack on the french fleet? Intercepted by the RAF FTR? hmm… strange thing… for what?

Other thing is transport of a land unit (GAR?) back to Italy. Is it the escape of Italians from Africa?

Italian BB arrives Tripoli – good position for first attack on our fleet. The other BB was repaired in the harbor of Messina. Italian Sub attacks successfully our CV – some better to see in the following picture:

Image

Ufff… 3 steps lost… We have to repair our units – up to the safer harbors! And wait for reinforcements!

At land we get some attacks on our tank corps – as awaited some damages, but not tragical. We could try to punish the attackers of course, but opt for the persecution and extermination of the fleeing infantry corps!

Post-Turn

Image

With a help of RAF FTR we could kill (after four attacks!) the front GAR and then kill the fleeing corps. After it we relocate the Malta FTR to Lybia – we wanna get some more air support for coming assaults.

The 8th Army Comand decides, the best option for the enemy could be a complete evacuation of Lybia. So we order our sub to prevent the escape of the italian land units.

Image

The RN goes back to get repairs. Our DD could not check the whole route of the fleet, so we was very happy to bring the fleet on target. But we knew, the second italian sub was at 5 steps last turn – not really dangerious!

As analysis of first actions of RN in the Med we can be satisfied. The fleet could support successfully our quick breakthrough through the enemy defend lines by Tobruk. Also we could sink an transporter. We get some damages but didn’t lost any unit.

Image

As we see, we get soon reinforcements in the Med. Our „heavy convoi“ leaves the harbors without problems. The transported mechanized corps can be used for attack on Syria or Lybia. We should see, how we use them after arriving.

RAF was relocated to Irland and builds the „Anti-Sub Command“ on the Island.

Image

Last but not least the loses. This time „as usual“ after the France campaign. We can be satisfied with our results:

1. We were able to prevent quick penetration of the Axis to France.
2. We prevent the Sealion 40.
3. Axis accepts Vichy – so we are up to 80% sure, Barbarossa 41 will coming.
4. We get good progress in Lybia – it should be hard for the Axis to kick off Brits from NA.
5. The Axis got quite high losses.

Image

At the end of the turn Sovietunion annex Baltic States.

A bug in the message_ger.txt file found and fixed for GS v3.01. If you want to fix it yourself for GS v3.00 you can open message_ger.txt in the data folder and scroll down to index-1049. At the end of this index the " is missing. Just add " and save. Then the bug is fixed and you get correct messages for index 1050 and later.

Turn 16 | 27. Juni 1940

Pre-Turn

Image

Germany begins the operation Weserübung – in a slimned version. No DoW on Norway. And no surrender of Denmark – did the guys in Kopenhagen survive?

Image

Hmm.. yep, by one step! No air support means one more turn for the wikings! The Dutch could also fend off the german attacks. We’ll reinforce Dutch and Danes but are sure, both citys should fall next turn.

German Seawulfs begins with attacks on our convois. The RAF have to pay back those attacks near british Islands!

Image

In Lybia we see a funny situation – after land attacks on our tank corps and FTR squadron the enemy could circle our mechanized corps! We take low loses – but the Brits are crying out for revenge!

In the harbor of Bengazhi we discover italian reinforcements – a corps. Pretty late, we would think ...

RAF pilots report about the arrival of the Italian Air Force in Africa! We do not see the FTR, but he is certainly somewhere there. Again, we think the enemy has lost a lot of time!

Post-Turn

Image

Our response in Africa: we destroy at first with circled mechanized and one corps the front garrison. After it follows a combined attack on the damaged Italian corps, which was killed by Australians.

We close the first part of the Libyan operation by destroying all troops near Tobruk and can concentrate our attack on the fortress now.

Image

Here an overview of our reinforcements.

Image

Back to the Europe. The RAF couldnot gain no one hit on german sub – the sub evades both times. :( We need to improve our radar research!

Funny thing: french partisans could take Dijon.

Image

Two new kills by italians make us right happy!

Image

After end of turn, we hear that Comrade Stalin has restored the old boundaries of the empire in the South. In order to manage the areas better, the Moldavian SSR is formed.

Image

The Tsarist Empire postcard of the Bessarabian region from 1856 ... :)
