After Action Report GS 2.01.xx – Germany Attacks![cancelled]
I have been thinking about doing an After Action Report (AAR) saga for some time, so I think I will pursue this one. In this way, I can explore the normal strategies and perhaps some that may be somewhat abnormal. But it will be in good fun, Please let me know what you think of this AAR. I will be German, and my opponent (shall remain nameless) has agreed to the following game options:
-
-
You will notice that we have agreed to turn off the OIL Consumption, which should lead to an interesting Game!

PS: I welcome your comments about this game and the strategies used.

Turn 1 (Sept 1, 1939)
The Axis Attacks Poland!
I decided on the traditional opening (I would guess this is comparable to the Kings Gambit in chess)
-
-
Although I did leave Lodz Open, I think this is a strong opening move. My TECH investment was in Industry.

We make some progress in the Central sector, but those darn allies send in some GAR reinforcements in the North!

Turn 11
Turn 11 (March 19, 1940)
It's time for the Spring Offensive!
-
Central Sector:
-
Nice progress, as we implement the sitzkrieg plan to good use. However, we see the dreaded Franco-Anglo double line of defense well prepared for our forces.
=
-
Northern Sector
-
We will see if a reinforcement in the north will speed things up, also we are considering adding another General and more air as we have availability.

Turn 12
Turn 12 (April 8, 1940)
Overview: A slow start to the offensive, we did some minor repair and landed reinforcements in the north.
-
Central Sector:
-
After a logistic troop halt, we prepare for the destruction of the Franco-Anglo forces, we will exploit the weakness in the line and break through and take Paris.
=
-
Northern Sector
-
We land another unit to begin to clear this city and take Norway. At this point, we are looking at adding another general and Air support (May take a while) to finish this small theater.

turn 13
Turn 13 (April 18, 1940)
Overview: Steady progress in the North and Central sectors.
-
Central Sector:
-
We are continuing to pressure the alliance in the center and destroying those enemy units in the process, we have Reims in sight as our next target!
=
-
Northern Sector
-
The addition of another troop seems to help in the progress, we also have additional Air power on the way and we will add another general in the near term…

Turn 14
Turn 14 (May 18, 1940)
Overview: The Grind-out progress continues…
-
Central Sector:
-
Slowly we are gaining ground. This double line is hard to crack. But more of his units are turning red (Low efficiency), a good sign – I hope to make a big breakthrough soon.
=
-
Northern Sector
-
Ok – Adding another fighter and going to buy a leader. This aught to finish this sector off…
