Re: FOGN errata
On page 121 the Spanish are required to have an exceptional Div commander. Was this a typo?
Re: FOGN errata
Army list in the rule book are just there for the fun, the show and to test . The real penisular war armies will be known in september with the second and last army list book
Re: FOGN errata
Russian 1812 guard : why are they no russian Jaegers in the 182 guard . You already had from 1808 the jaeger regiment ( 3 bataillons ) and the finland guard regiment ( 3 bataillons) used as jaegers as well ? they were at Borodino ( Nafziger Napoleon's Invasion of Russia ) . So why do they not appear in 1812 as they exist from 1808 ?
Re: FOGN errata
The Russian guard jaeger regiments only had 400 men per battalion. This does't qualify them as seperate full-sized units.Russian 1812 guard : why are they no russian Jaegers in the 182 guard . They are more accurately depicted as 2 bases of a large unit (1 normal base and 1 skirmisher base). This is permitted by the list - 1 skirmisher attachment in each of 2 divisions.
Whenever a unit is made up of 2 regiments, (1 each of line and light) - or of a regiment of line and at least a full battalion of light, the best way to depict this is to use a skirmisher attachment, but place a 'normal' stand of light infantry behind it.
Re: FOGN errata
There is something I do not understand : 6 bataillons of 400 men ( 3 bataillons for the Jaeger regiment and 3 bataillons for the Finland regiment, this regiment being, from 1811 a light infantry regiment and not a line regiment ) , means 2400 men ( let's say 2000 ) , light infantry , formed in one brigade and you are telling me it is not enough to be classified as a brigade ....even a small one ....

"In 1811 the Finland Guard Regeiment became a light regiment."
(Nafziger - "Napoleon's Invasion of Russia" p 79, 1998)
Borodino :
3rd Brigade - Col. Baron Bistrom [picture]
- - - - - - - - Finnish Lifeguard Regiment [3 btns.]
- - - - - - - - Lifeguard Jäger Regiment [3 btns.]
So we have got 2 light infantry regiments , that funny enough appear in the 1813 list, but not the 1812 list ...in 1813 they were at 2 bataillons each ...but at borodino 3 bataillons each

Re: FOGN errata
Sorry - I was looking at the 1813 establishment. The Guard jagers were indeed brigaded together during the 1812 campaign - and therefore should warrant at least a small unit and possibly a large one.
The 1813-1814 list is suspect as well. Since the guard jagers were only 2 Battalions strong by then - they don't deserve to have more than a small unit - and more likely 2 attachments (1 per division).
Re: FOGN errata
In 1813 - 1814 there where with the guard light infantry Filand regiment , so a total of +/- 1600 soldiers ( 2 x 2 bataillons ). I guesss it might be OK and for 1812 , also a small unit as they would bsomewhere betwee 2000-2400 soldiers .
I guess in 1813, the 3erd bataillon was back in depot

Re: FOGN errata
A teeny little erratum in the Sacile list...
In Albert Gyulai's Division, the first infantry unit is shown as "Line infantry, veteran, drilled".
This doesn't fit the standard unit description - it is 'type, training, training' instead of 'type, elan, training'.
I am assuming it should be Line Infantry, Average, Drilled - but it could be intended as 'Line Infantry, Superior, drilled' or' Line Infantry,???,Veteran'
Can you please confirm the correct unit description.

Re: FOGN errata
Are we collecting errata for Emperors and Eagles here?
Presuming we are:
p.93
Fellahin: Max bases is = 6; min Line Infantry bases = 6; so where does a supposedly optional 4 base unit Light Infantry Skirmishers fit in?
p.115
Combined max for Dragoons & Cuirassiers is 8; min Dragoons is 4: Cuirassiers can be in a unit of 4 or_6_ bases. How is a 6 base unit possible?

Re: FOGN errata
next time you guys do a revised QRS you should add to the complex move test: Advance to within 2MU of enemy while disordered.
I think its an important one that we had overlooked for over a year of playing the game
