Yep thanks for this and in the end my by experience in the final round didn't matter that much - no way I could have caught Klayeckles as the ultimate winner with a near 100pt lead
Happy to finish 3rd in my first attempt at one of these!
Many thanks to all involved.

Re: Field of Glory II - Holiday 2017 Tournament
Thanks to the opponents and the organizers, it was a very interesting and fine tournament.
Unlike other games on the internet, all opponents were very friendly and helpful.
Especially for a newbie in Slitherine games like me, the support was extremely valuable.
Only one thing bothers me a little bit:
If the opponent does not make his move, you lose points and that at 58:40. You get no bonus for winning.
At the end one question:
Will there ever be a chance to play “live”, not with PEM?
If the opponent makes a move only every 35 hours, than it is moderately exciting.
Thx again!

Re: Field of Glory II - Holiday 2017 Tournament
As much as I'd like to take credit for finishing #2 it would be taking advantage of the draw bug noticed by Varity after a round 4 game. I checked the scores and one of my round 5 games was a draw which should have scored me 2 points rather than 62 ! That would put mordante in 2nd and MikeC_81 in third.rbodleyscott wrote:Congratulations to:

In any event it was a great tournament and now I look forward to the DL games.

Congrats to those who medaled & to those who came close. I thoroughly enjoyed this event even though I was outclassed. I had the good fortune of playing 'edb1815' in the 1st round. His 2 victories were clear & decisive which impressed the hell out of me. I have much to learn per this great game & look forward to the next tournament.

Gotta echo the sentiments already mentioned above, big thanks to Slitherine and all players. My first Tournament, really enjoyed all my games, made some new friends, and learned a lot! Congrats to the winners!

Re: Field of Glory II - Holiday 2017 Tournament
what a fun tourney... great games all... good sports, and good battles. and some good dice rolls
i definitely feel like i got better from all the good competition...i learned a few tricks from you all as time went on. and everyone seems to be improving.
i couldsee doing that agian some time; i might suggest a bit more time for each game. with time differences, and sometimes only one weekend it could be hard to find times to get the games done...and it seemed, the better the competition the longer the games seem to last. maybe after the digital league another one at a leisurely pace so we can recouperate from digital FOG overload?? great fun and excellent matches!

Except that MikeC_81's score was also increased by the draw bug.edb1815 wrote:As much as I'd like to take credit for finishing #2 it would be taking advantage of the draw bug noticed by Varity after a round 4 game. Quite satisfied with my performance this tournament. New to the system and finished low 50s (halfway through the completes) and won 50% of my games. Lots of fun, great army choices! Looking forward to the next one.
Re: Field of Glory II - Holiday 2017 Tournament
Fun tournament. Though I, like a few others have mentioned, would vote for a bit more time per round or at least not start one of the rounds a few days late! Ended up with 3 timed out games (2 in round 4 and 1 in round 3) that were all very close games and a few more turns would have made a big difference (and been a lot of fun).
Also had the opportunity to get crushed by klayeckles in round 1 and learned a lot from those first games. Congrats to all the winners!

Well done to the winners and thanks both to the organisers and to my opponents. Al the games were pleasant and often very tense.
The army pairings and terrain made for interesting games.
