hidde (Later Seleucids, post-166BC) 16/30
CheAhn (Medieval Crown of Aragon, early) 36/34

Terrible ordeal :D
Impact went lousy and the Aragonese knights were biding there time waiting to strike.
Fortunatly the Seleucids are mostly superior(and a couple elite) troops. It hanged in the balance but the mighty Almughavars couldn't follow up their good impact results in melee.
Some brave militia held against my pikes and it looked like the Aragon general and two more knights should be able to attack the rear of my troops.
But one argyraspides and one cataphract held them off long enough for me to finally rout the militia. It took a couple of turns to get the final points but the crisis was over.

Gratz Hidde - you made up for my Seleucids failing miserably - clearly a better general!

Lysimachos (Arab Conquest) 20/34 Tiavals (Catalan Later) 31/28

After a bloody battle the Arab spearmen were able to defeat their mighty opponent in a flat plain surrounded by some steep hills on the right, were the Dailamis crushed their opponents.

Your finalists . . .

Post by stockwellpete »

For those of you who are following the tournament for the first time and may not know the players involved in the final . . .

1) ericdoman1 - currently number 3 FOG player (and a former number 1); beaten finalist in the first knock-out competition and semi-finalist in the second tournament; using Catalan Company (later). Eric is from Wales.

2) ianiow - Ian is the number 7 FOG player at the moment. He is using the Palmyrans and he has never lost with this army! Ian is from the Isle of Wight in England.

Re: Any score in either semi-final?

We're at turn 5. Catalans are running and shooting, Seleucids stumble forward best they can.
What's worse is that if and when we catch up it will most likely be in some woods

I'm away from home and quite busy all next week but I'll make this and EE quarter-finals a priority.

Excellent stuff! Thanks very much, Ian. If we could get a screenshot or two from Anders v Eric that would be good. :D

SF result

eric (Catalans)25/36 vs hidde(Post Seleucids) 26/25

The game ends after 18 turns.

Once more my shooting over the period of the game was terrible but my combat dice made up for it and with the loss of the IC CIC of ANders, a number of his units started failing tests.

SF result

ianiow (Palmyrans) 18/25
lysimachos (Arab Conquest) 40/33

When the ferocious Arabs lost their IC they finally lost their stomach for the battle. My Romans will need new armour for the final. Their current armour has been stabbed and hacked to pieces. Most of them are down to their underpants for protection! Well fought Guido.
