The Northern Classic

Post by dave_r »

We cordially invite you to take part in The Northern Classic 2019, sponsored by Forged in Battle.

Location: Magdalene Centre, Eccles, Manchester, M30 8JD. This is situated a mile from the picturesque Worsley village and the M60 motorway. There are several reasonably priced hotels/guest houses nearby.

Date: Saturday/Sunday, 30th November/1st December 2019.

Period/Armies: Any army, any book from 500BC to 500 AD. (Allies must be taken from within this time period.)

Points: Players to choose three lists: one each of 800/850 & 900 points and can use the 800 and 900 points once and the 850 points twice, as they see fit. Before each game each player writes down which list they will use, then both reveal this at the same time.

Table size: 6 x 4.

Format: Two three hour fifteen minute games Saturday, starting 9.00 am and 1.15 pm; same on Sunday. Swiss 35-0 scoring system.

Umpire: Dave Ruddock.

List Checker: Phil Powell: FoGAMlists@bhgs.org.uk

Prizes: Trophies will be awarded for 1st to 3rd places. After deducting the cost of the room and trophies, the balance of the entry fees will be used to provide Forged in Battle vouchers for a prize draw, with all players eligible to take part.

Thanks to a generous discount from Forged in Battle (and if all places are taken) the prizes will be as follows:

1 x £100.00 voucher; 2 x £75.00; 2 x £50.00 and 4 x £25.00, so nearly half the players will take home draw prizes.

Entry Fee: Early Bird entry fee: £25.00 (maximum 20 players). After 1st August: £30.00.

Please register here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-nort ... 8399101284

We will get in touch to arrange payment.
