We can now register for the tournament in Rome, there are several options:
- Book a room for yourself
- Book a shared room with another player
- Book a shared room with a non-playing guest

All include tournament entry and an element of food and drink. Although contained within the link below, the hotel is this one: https://www.grandhotelgianicolo.it/en/index.html

All details are contained within the link:
http://www.fiw.it/rome-2019-registration-page/

This is on a first come first served basis, so please register as soon as possible as we don't want the ADLG mob hogging all the spaces...

The nights included are the 14th and the 15th of June. Within the link above, it is possible add more nights at a highly discounted rate.

The first game will be on the Friday evening after the dinner - likely to start around 8:30 pm*, then 3 games on saturday and 2 on sunday. The tournament is planned to finish around 6pm* on the Sunday, so if you are travelling back please bear in mind the time it takes to get from Rome to the airport.

This will be a themed tournament. Tables will be 6x4. Exact theme to be determined - likely to be armies and enemies of Rome. Watch this space!

* all times are italian. This means that any time can (and probably will) change as and when people turn up. Except on the Sunday when times are taken to within a millisecond of their life.

A final call to register for the upcoming FoG tournament in Rome - full details below.

The tournament kit will include custom markers (disrupted, fragmented, broken and ambush markers along with a measuring tool) and is included with entry. You can check your status here: http://www.fiw.it/run-and-riders/

1) Room Reservation:
the Tournament Venue is full (no rooms are available). A secondary hotel is available and can be booked as part of registration http://www.fiw.it/book-accommodation/. It is also possible to register without booking a hotel.

The hotel is approximately 3km from the venue and is the Casa Tra Noi. https://www.hotelcasatranoiroma.com/en/. If that is too far to walk for a wargamer in the Italian heat, feel free to book your own hotel. However, there maybe a bus that will be hired each day to drive to the venue. The hotel rate has been discounted.

We are now upto eight bookings for FoG - if you want to book the Casa Tra Noi, there are not many rooms left, so please register ASAP!

2) Room confirmation:
In the next weeks all players signed up will receve an email with information on the tournament and accomodation. The players with a room reserved will [allegedly] be contacted by the hotel which will ask for a credit card to confirm the room... No payment will be taken, the room will be paid for upon arrival.

3) Timings

- Saturday Light Lunch (food and drink)
- Saturday Gran Gala Dinner (included in hotel Giannicolo Reservation and available for the other players)
- Sunday Lunch (food and drink)

5) Other Info
For any questions either contact me or write to Stefano at info@fiw.it

And there was David saying he did not want to take the Later Carthage as it had to fight as it did not have any shooters!!!!!

So Later Carthage first and second.

Won a painted ADLG Mongol army in the raffle as well so a great weekend.
Great games even the losses, thanks Steve, Terry, Graham ,Dave, Jon and Ferdi .Congrats to Ferdi ,I couldn't get close to him.
Wonderful venue ,good food and drink and good to catch up with old friends from around the world
Lynda is sacrificing her dice at the moment,I think all would agree she had a bad time of it

It was v3
There were some differences ,He had 3 elephant BG's , 3 FC's 1 Cv,and Libyans in 6's
I had 1 El BG, Libyans in 8's 2 Gallic Cv.
The main difference in our game was his dice rolling, they were supplied by the Italians and both used the same ones but when he rolled he always did 1 hit more than I did, just the way it goes sometimes

Thanks David. With so many elephants was he gambling on facing mounted or Romans? If so, he wasn't far wrong.

Nice touch to see dice supplied by the organisers, although it obviously didn't help you.
