The new bug submission process

Post by AMG »

Hi all,

Due to the high adoption rate, and increased volume of bugs, and growing posts on the Tech Support forum for OOB, I am implementing a new process for reporting bugs/issues to help both the devs and mods triage issues and update the community. It will also make it quicker for forum users to see which issues are new, resolved or fixed.

The new subforum can be found here

Bug Reporting Rules
  • All gameplay bugs and issues should be reported into this sub-forum.
  • One bug per thread in this forum, no nesting of issues, please. If there is another way of recreating the issue described in the OP, you can share it in the thread, and the OP/Mod should then combine the update to their post. Any non-related issues found inside a thread will be deleted.
  • All bugs should adhere to the below naming conventions and structure;

Thread subject naming convention

[Bug type][game area/feature][status] Please only use this format/convention.

Bug types can be any of the following; Unit Stats Bug, Audio Bug, Graphical Bug, UI Bug, Text Bug, Gameplay Bug, Performance Bug, PBEM Bug, Mod Bug, Editor Bug, Feedback and Change-Request.

Game Area/Feature is self-explanatory, just describe the area(s) the issue occurs or what feature is affected.

Status should be listed as "New" for newly reported issues (by the thread OP), "Resolved" by either the forum moderator or me once the bug database has been updated to resolved, and "Fixed" by either the OP or forum moderator once a fix has been released and verified by the community.

For example;
[UI Bug][Town names for X scn are truncated throughout the map][New]
or [Unit Stats Error][Goliath Mine spec error][Fixed]

Thread body text

Provide a concise description of the issue being reported. Link to any relevant other forum posts (where necessary, if the bug is affected/caused by another bug), and provide both steps to reproduce the issue (especially if its technical) and screenshots of the issue (especially if its a visual issue).

Following these simple steps with help us find, fix and release better updates and free up more time to develop future content updates and features.
