Do roads connect Fields the same way they connect Mines to cities?

Post by jack54 »

Hi

In the attached image the 'field' NW of Auzia is outside of the city influence 'Cross' and seems to generate no food. I connected a road but it didn't seem to help. Do I need to wait for the city to grow and have the highlight cover the field? Thanks loving this game ... :D

Hello,
cities harvest food and wood only from their so called "city range" (white tiles highlighted around the city). You need to let the city grow to use that field.

I think the other question raised here is whether adding a road to a field, once the field is within the city range/white tiles, brings any additional food in from the field tile just as roads increase resources gained from a mine.

I believe the answer is "no" but wanted to check.

Great game.
