Watch for Anti Virus Problems

Post by Yogi the Great »

I was aware of the problems that anti-virus programs (I have Norton) can cause this one was new for me.

Purchased game and downloaded it all went as normal until my anti-virus checked it for safety. Usually it just warns me game may not be safe (when there are few users in the system which a new game usually has this often happens) but it gives me the choice of running anyway. This time the anti virus gave the message program not safe and automatically deleted it giving me no choice.

So I turned off the Norton auto-protect downloaded the game again and then was able to install the game.

Live and learn, I guess I might have given up one of my allowed downloads but I an up and running.

easier option is to run as admin on the installer or add the exe to the safe or white list of a given program, in your case Norton.

Hello Zakblood, you do seem to be everywhere :)

I'm usually on Matrix but with FOG II and this one have to go over to Sliterine.

Unfortunately, Norton and Avast are quite prone to false positives.

I had a similar issue with NORTON - after the download NORTON blitzed the 'threat'.

My work around was to add the download file's name CheckYour6!-SetupRelease-v1.0.0.exeto NORTON'S exception list and re-download the install file.
Of course it took me three times before I figured it out...

SETTINGS
ANTIVIRUS
SCANS AND RISKS
EXCLUSIONS / LOW RISKS
Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intellegence Detection
Configure
ADD FILES
CheckYour6!-SetupRelease-v1.0.0.exe
CLICK APPLY then OK
