harveylh - Jewish Revolt 66-135 AD defeats nyczar - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD, 42-4
Interesting game as the Soissons deployed nearly 30 non-skirmisher units. Not used to being that outnumbered. However as nyczar told me, it is a large but brittle army. He was right.

Re: Biblical: winners post your results here . . .
Here is a peak at my lessons learned notes from my loss to Cunningcairn's Lydians:
1. Do not make mistakes. VERY IMPORTANT!
2. If even one Lydian Lancer breaks free to roam the countryside in the rear, time to PANIC!
3. Three perfectly formed units disrupted, one after the other, as each withdrew one hex. Maximus Toadius, I don't care if the men thought long gray cloaks looked cool or not, giving them the cloaks was definitely a bad idea.
Hopefully my notes will help others in these dark days.
Well played game by Cunningcairn and watch out for his Lydian Lancers in open countryside.

Re: First Sunday round-up this weekend!
Is it possible to add faction in addition to player name in that table ? Would be nice to see how each faction doing in general and in particular matchups.

It would make it too cluttered, I think. The first post in each "Arrange your matches here" thread has all the player and army details in full.

youngr (Romano-British) beat rexhurley (Moorish) 63-56
A tough game against a valiant opponent. Not easy trying to fight an army that shoots and evades. Setting up charges so that evaders end up in front of friends so they can then charge without them evading isn't easy! Thanks for a great game.

I also wonder how in turn 0 score at 49 all I loose a re rallied fragged pike block and a fragged lancer unit to that elie and the score jumps 13 points to 63/49 and a loss like huh? Not harveyhs fault just really really weird.harveylh wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 1:01 pm Division A
harveylh - Romans 105-25 BC defeats rexhurley - Graeco-Bactrians 250-130 BC, 63-49
The terrain favored the Graeco-Bactrians. However after that luck entirely favored the Romans. A very good and close good that was not won until the very last turn before nightfall. This battle proves it is better to be lucky than good! Romans had fragged C-in-C elephant rally and beat opposing elephant, lancer, and MI with the help of a flanking MI. Romans had raw legions pull back in face of pikes and lancers several times without any morale failures. They also fought very well. My worthy opponent guessed my secret. When as a Roman player you make your sacrifice to Jupiter you use real virgins. But be very afraid of the Graeco-Bactrians in future games as they are due extraordinary luck and my next sacrifice to Jupiter is for them!
Also another example of its not enough to open a 25-30% lead early on, sigh

So, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and take a guess that mass medium infantry is the main meta for the armies that can pull it off?
