Good comeback Ian! That was a crazy turn of events.
Though it doesn't change anything, the score posted is incorrect. Those were our casualty numbers. Our rout numbers were something like 62 - 51. Just a heads-up for future victories

Classical Antiquity Division B
IMC (10) - Jewish 167-111 BC beat SpeedyCM (8) - Greeks 460-281 BC 70% v 44%
Very close game in actual fact. The zealots got off to a great start but tired. However, the greek resurgence cost many lives and they auto broke in the final stages. Thanks for the game.

Div B
Jagger2002 (Carthaginians) beat XLegionaire (Phonecians) 63-41
Summary notes extracted from my private battle diary:
--The battle began with my valiant Carthaginians, all around good guys, confidently advancing forward in accordance with my brilliant and cunning plan. After much marching and counter-marching, I suddenly realized my muttering and now increasingly mutinous army, full of foul dogs all, was enclosed within a three sided trap formed by my devious opponent. Agghh! Dastardly Doom loomed near gloating at my predicament.
--Fortunately, Ms. Fickle Fate was by my side and when the hard fighting inevitably began, she gave, against all odds, my Carthaginians a 36-13 lead. Absorbed in the festivities of my premature celebration, two timing Ms Fickle Fate, temporarily ignored, was somehow wooed from my side-undoubtedly by a Phoenician double agent. And suddenly, the Phoenicians triumphed across the line. In a twinkle, the score was 36-37. Again agghh!
--In my desperation, I called up Herr Dour Destiny. For my troubles, I received a dreadfully long and tiresome lecture on predestination, acceptance and the fickle nature of Fate! No help there. More agghhs!! So in my now frantic desperation, I sent Ms. Fickle Fate a box of chocolates, a dozen roses, promised her dinner and a good time. And back by my side she reappeared! And as they say, the rest is history.
The score does not reflect the hazardous nature of this memorable clash. Very well played and hard fought game by my esteemed opponent, Signore XLegionaire.
Factoid: According to Herr Dour Destiny, there is a reason Ms Fate's first name is Fickle. As usual, he is undoubtedly right.
