klayeckles (persian) beats Ludendorf (Seleucid) 64-32
really great battle...Seleucids went with a sledge hammer...right after the hoplites perched on a hill...and it went very well at first. the phalynx's began to mow down the hoplites despite the hill. and soon the persians were looking very vulnerable to total collapse. but the sledge hammer left the seleucid flanks vulnerable, if only the persians could do something before the center collapse.

A lowly mob slid into some woods atop the hill in the center, and it was enough to freeze the veteran seleucid phalynx for most of the rest of the battle. this helped the persian center hold on while the persian right flank slowly ground down the seleucid defenders there...finally creating an outflank on the phalynxs.

note this was much closer than the score...several persians rallied late to make things look more favorable then they really were for most of the battle. a real nail biter with the persians coming from behind...excellent match up, Seleucid Emperor!.

SpeedyCM (Achaemenid Persian 545-481BC) defeated nyczar (Pergamene 190-129BC) 68 - 50.

What started with marches and counter marches in an attempt to gain advantage soon descended into a bloodbath that Pyrrhus could call his own.

pantherboy (Indians), with 7 wins from his 9 matches, has set the chasing ruskicanuk (Ptolemaics) and klayeckles (Perians) a clear target in Division A. ruskicanuk can afford one more defeat as he beat pantherboy in their match, but klayeckles needs to win his last 5 matches, including a crunch match with ruskicanuk, to win the division. At the bottom, the relegation place is likely to be decided by the outcome of the match between Bluefin (Pyrrhic) and Peterabb (Macedonian). Barrold713 (Romans) confirmed his place as runner-up to youngr (Samnites) in Division D with his seventh win this week, while 2 defeats for gamercb (Nabataean) means his match with bcbarnesRR (Spartans) will decide who gets the wooden spoon in this section.

Two wins for pantherboy (Spanish, Sertorius) this week in Division A sees him finish with 32 points from his 9 matches. The only player who can overtake him is ruskicanuk who needs to win 2 out of his last 3 matches to win the division as he was the only player to beat pantherboy this season. It must be said that ruskicanuk's remaining three opponents, rexhurley (Palmyrans) , shawkhan2 (Sassanids) and shadowblack (Romans), have failed to win a single match this season. harveylh (Jewish Revolt) won Division B this week and now has 7 straight wins. In what is a very tight table otherwise, Ulysisgrunt (Sassanids) has slipped to the bottom after a win by IMC (Byzantines). ggarynorman (Palmyrans) has moved to the top of Division C this week with his fourth win from 7 matches, but Bluefin (Visigoths) is best placed in third with 3 straight wins so far.
