Bosporans thwart the Selecuid attack 41/66, the Selecuids werent helped by their pike blocks fragging on warbands and weird choices by the Cavalry AI on pursuit with flanks wide open waiting to be spanked
Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)

I realise I'm new to this and asking questions before even throwing a javelin, but...
Could the rules be consolidated into one post and any amendments applied to this post? Otherwise we will have to read all the forum to see if the rules have been amended, which is not so bad when there are only 4 pages, but soon I suspect we will be in double figures!

Turn 2 Begin
Please send strategic orders to me for Turn 2 by PM by 4/19 2200 GMT.
Note: I am told the battle in Judea with Nabatean v Jewish is very close affair. In order to keep things moving I am going to launch the next turn as rexhurley won by a huge margin and will have the tiebreak. Accordingly, Slave Revolt conquers Judea and loses the army. IMC will keep the army from the Judea even if he loses by a close margin. IMC was disadvantaged from fighting a 3/2 battle against Ptolemy in the last turn, and this is an appropriate remedy.
Turn 2 Map attached.
Green check indicates province conquered. Red X means a battle was lost in that province. The armies are indicated by a capital letter.

Re: Turn 2 Admin
Would you be able to put the map letter codes for each nation eg. Pt - Ptolomaic, against each nation in the list of players/nations in the amended rules you posted on page 1?bbogensc wrote:Note: Updated rules are posted on the 1st post in the forum.

Hi,
news from the Jewish and Nabatean game. A very close call with a win for the Nabateans 61% Jewish to 22% Nabatean.
This went right to the wire and could have tipped either way. thanks for the game Najanaja

Not sure that it matters, but the win/lose was 56% to 60%

I suspect we may need to specify where the percentages are taken from, this is a common point of difference I see when people are reporting results. There are 2 options;Najanaja wrote:Not sure that it matters, but the win/lose was 56% to 60%IMC wrote:Hi,

1. Top left of screen
2. Summary of result - this is usually significantly less bad for the victors.
We should include this in the rules too.

Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)
Question regarding movement for the straights...
Can an army move between the following without using the sea;
1. South of Spain to Africa (i.e. across straight of Gibraltar)
2. Sicily to Italy (straight of Messina)
3. Turkey to Greece (Bosporous)
Apologies for using the modern names.
Most games consider these as land crossing points as these typically would use small boats rather than ships.

Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)
Yes, good questions. I hope that I did cover this in the rules. The win loss is taken by break % similar to league games. Army depletion looks to casualty figures on large battles, each 20% loss eliminates an army.
The land bridges are covered in the geography notes. Bosporus does connect. Gibraltar does not. Sicily does not. These were gameplay decisions to try to balance the map for starting positions.
