All the games are finished, but we have yet to determine natural disasters for 270 B.C. Natural Disasters and Other Uncontrollable Events as declared by Zeus, ruler of the Olympians, are determined as follows.

Twice each turn or once a year, there will be a chance of incurring a natural disaster or having a restless populace. Each Major Power will be assigned an Italian city lottery, as follows:

1. Epirus – Firenze
2. Rome – Roma
3. Macedon – Milano
4. Gauls – Napoli
5. Carthage – Palermo
6. Seleucids – Genova
7. Ptolemaic – Torino
8. Antigonus – Venezia

Each lottery has five balls. The numbers on each ball will determine a result, a calamity or no harm.

1-20 - No harm
21-30 - Famine – costing 200T
31-40 - Earthquake – costing 100T
41-45 - Volcano Eruption – costing 100T
46-50 - Restless underclass – costing 100T
51-60 - Pirates or bandits disrupting trade – costing 100T
Over 60 - No harm
There could be multiple events causing harm each year. If there are 2 or more natural events of the same type, only the power with the highest number in the category will be inflicted. Restless underclass will count in each case.

We will use the Lotto from today, 22 December to determine the result for this year, 270 B.C.

Once these are determined, I will update treasury based on results during 270 B.C. and we will move on to another year and decade!

Client States and Provinces as of end of 270 B.C.

In 279 B.C., Macedon won a decisive victory over the Aetolian League and it became a client state of Macedon. The Aetolian League is now a province of Macedon, providing 300T income in 269 B.C. and each year as long as it is held by Macedon.

In 279 B.C., Carthage won a decisive victory over Syracuse and it became a client state of Carthage. Syracuse is now a province of Carthage, providing 300T income in 269 B.C. and each year as long as it is held by Carthage.

In 278 B.C., Macedon won a decisive victory over the Achaean League and it became a client state of Macedon. If Macedon continues to control the Achaean League until the end of 269 B.C., it will become a province of Macedon.

In 277 B.C., Ptolemaic Empire won a decisive victory over Bithynia and it became a client state of Ptolemy. If Ptolemy continues to control Bithynia until the end of 268 B.C., it will become a province of Ptolemaic Empire.

In 276 B.C., Carthage won a victory over the Bruttians. The Bruttians were already in a weakened state due to a prior (non-decisive) loss to Carthage. Thus they capitulated and became a client state of Carthage. The Bruttians will become a province of Carthage if Carthage continues to control the area until the end of 267 B.C.

In 274 B.C., Gauls won a decisive victory over the Iberians and Iberians became a client state. The Iberians will become a province of the Gauls, if the Gauls continue to control them until the end of 263 B.C.

In 273 B.C., Seleucids had a draw with Atropatene that resulted in ravaging by the Seleucids. As Atropatene was in a weakened state, it capitulated and became a client state of the Seleucids. Atropatene will become a province If the Seleucids continue to control it until the end of 262 B.C.

In 273 B.C., Ptolemaic Empire won a battle against Pontus, which was in a weakened state. Pontus is now a client state and will become a province if Ptolemaics continue to control it until the end of 262 B.C.

In 272 B.C., Rome won a victory over Campania. It was a decisive victory. Campania is now a client state of Rome and will become a province if Rome continues to control it until the end of 261 B.C.

In 271 B.C., The Ptolemaic Empire won a decisive victory over the Nabataeans, who are now a client state and will become a province if held until the end of 260 B.C.

In 271 B.C., Macedon won a decisive victory over Thrace, who are now a client state and will become a province if held until the end of 260 B.C.

In 270 B.C., Epirus won a decisive victory over Apulia. Apulia is now a client state of Epirus and will become a province if held to the end of 259 B.C.

"To put movement sequence as simply as possible, there will be 2 pools of players, those that chose their last move and those that did not. Those that did not choose in the last movement sequence will be in the pool that can choose in the next movement sequence."

The Italian city lotto is used for this. Saturday's lotto for 19 January will be used for 269 BC:

1. Epirus – Firenze - will respond
2. Rome – Roma - will respond
3. Macedon – Milano - will be active
4. Gauls – Napoli - will respond
5. Carthage – Palermo - will be active
6. Seleucids – Genova - will be active
7. Ptolemaic – Torino - will be active
8. Antigonus – Venezia - will respond

The order of active movers will be based on the lowest number received on a ball. The responders will be in order of the highest number received on a ball, with highest number responding to lowest number. If there is a tie, the next lowest/highest ball will be used.
