Ancient Brits Vs Romans

Post by Jagger2002 »

Ok, I have been experimenting with warbands and particularly the Ancient Brits vs Imperial Romans. Tough battle. So any veteran hints on how to resoundingly rout the Romans from the field of batlte without desperate resort to Ms Fickle Fate?

Max out light chariots. Flanking galore!

And the tough part is holding the romans in place with warriors long enough to flank. :) Time to give it a shot.

Superior number of units is the only big advantage most armies can achieve against Romans in the open, but if you are playing single-player you probably won't have that. The British warbands are loose so positioning them in rough, forest or hill tiles can help you tie down the enemy infantry while the chariots and light infantry destroy them piecemeal. The warbands should ideally be kept out of combat for as long as possible and only initiate melee when it is needed for the flanking.
