Text on maps

On some maps (especially custome made) there are offen text strings that describes landmarks etc. Is there a way to switch it on/off ?
If not, it would be nice if this could be implemented in a patch.

Good idea, even could be possible give the option to do oposite, expand text to see it better and give players the choice to show it, not show it or show it bigger.

There is also a general problem with the size of text strings in the unit selection screens. It is especially annoying when playing the german language version, because of the long words in german language. Sometimes important information is cut off, like the '(können absitzen)' {=dismountable} of cavalry units. Also description texts get hidden behind the unit picture. Don't know if something can be done about this, without designing the whole UI anew. Just want to report that there is a problem:

The left hand example is not just an issue in German, but it is worse in German which on average seems to be 1.5 to 2.0 times time longer than English. Without making the text tiny, there isn't much that can be done about the list box, because there is limited space for it. This is not obvious on the now usual wide screens, but the extra space disappears on narrower aspect ratios, and we need the game to work on all of them.

For the "tooltip" on the right, we have to check each unit and get the names abbreviated by the translator so that they fit correctly. Evidently we have missed some.

We will look into shortening them.

For the current example would an abbreviation to "(K. Absitzen)" be acceptable?

Better just make it to "(A)". That's what you have already done with "Wilde Nomaden-Reiter mit Bögen (A)" in the Hun (Sabir) army.
