music in-game?

The music in this game sounds really good, I mean surprisingly good - is it possible somehow to turn music on in-game? I mean in the battles?

No, because the ambient sound track in fact uses the music channel rather than the sound effect channel. Currently the engine will only run one music channel at a time.

Oh, too bad. Then I have to listen to paradox-music on youtube, I would rather have listened to the music produced for this game though.

On a somewhat related note - is there any way to disable the little fanfare sound that plays with the New Turns ?

I use external music (Roman sounding) soundtracks to set the atmosphere and when the Da ... Da Da Da sound comes up, it tends to break the immersion.

You could turn down the sound effects volume in settings. Otherwise the only way would be to replace the relevant .wav file with a silent one. I am out of office so cannot be more specific at present.

Thanks for the reply Richard.

If you could give the name of the particular .wav file when you return, it would be most appreciated.

I will save Richard a job.

There are actually 4 fanfare .wav files. Two for Barbarian armies and two for Roman armies (those might be used for all civilised armies, I'm not sure), the names are:

FANFARE_BARBARIAN_CARNYX_Av2.wav
FANFARE_BARBARIAN_CARNYX_Bv2.wav
FANFARE_ROMAN_CORNU_Av2.wav
FANFARE_ROMAN_CORNU_Bv2.wav

They are in Field of Glory II/Data/Sounds.

cheers
