Re: First expansion
This game is really rocking.
Byzantine must be happy knowing whatever DLC they make, we will all pile in like teenage girls at a Justin Beiber concert to buy it within minutes of it becoming available.

Oh we are, apart from having a nervous breakdown deciding which DLC to do next - the impossible answer being "all of them".GiveWarAchance wrote:This game is really rocking.

Re: First expansion
Don't worry. As long as it is in anything from Roman era, dark ages or medieval times and has some nice armies ready to do battle, we will be happy to buy it. You can't go wrong.rbodleyscott wrote:Oh we are, apart from having a nervous breakdown deciding which DLC to do next - the impossible answer being "all of them".GiveWarAchance wrote:This game is really rocking.

Re: First expansion
I think this is true. While we each may have a preference, I'm pretty sure that I'll enjoy whatever is released. In fact, I'd pay for it right nowGiveWarAchance wrote:Don't worry. Quote from the Steam forum:
So there's no guarantee that it's first, or even imminent. But it makes me happy.Persians (and Spartans to fight them) will come in a DLC before too long.

Re: First expansion
I prefer the age of Sparta and Greeks and Persian wars. So, I'm looking for them to to back in time some more to cover the great ancient battles. It's all good though as the engine is great and looks to be able to work with all warfare up to Napoleon. They can stop there as far as I'm concerned. Got too many of those already. Pike n Shot is there for the medieval ages. Now, we need more ancients content.
Re: First expansion
Don't really care that much, it will all be good. I just wish they would hurry up and get it done. It has already been... what, a week since game release! Geez, how long can a fan be expected to wait?
Re: First expansion
I've no idea how many people working in the team, but hopefully those working on bugs are different to those doing art-work and army lists etc. Otherwise we might not see anything until priority bugs are squashed.

I'd love to see "Swifter than Eagles" as well.ianiow wrote:My heart says "Swifter than Eagles" should be next for some fun of truly biblical proportions! But it makes sense to produce "Immortal Fire" first as they already have a lot of models already designed and running in "Rise of Rome".

Re: First expansion
Imagine if they added the Ancient China expansion. All the Rome and China fanboys throwing their armies against each other, arguing about whether Rome or Han China would be victorious.

Re: First expansion
Ahem! Pike and Shot is most definitely not for the medieval period. More like "Early Modern" period, I would say. The medieval expansions that FOG has include "Wolves From the Sea", "Oath of Fealty", "Storm of Arrows", "Swords and Scimitars" and "Eternal Empire".Igorputski wrote: Pike n Shot is there for the medieval ages. Re: First expansion
I would go for fall of Rome and rise of the barbarian kingdoms + rise of islam (V - VI/VII c.). Then go back in time to warring states period in China. Preferably with old campaign system from P&S

Gets my vote as well. But then Richard already knows that from prior experienceolin0111 wrote:I would go for fall of Rome and rise of the barbarian kingdoms + rise of islam (V - VI/VII c.).
BTW point of order - fall of the empire in the west, goes on for many centuries in the east

Re: First expansion
You’ll be happy with my upcoming mod but still a long way to go. It won’t be as extensive as the FoG Empires of the Dragon book and no new 3D models. This makes it possible for Byzantine to release an official DLC in the future if they ever get to that point.grumblefish wrote:Imagine if they added the Ancient China expansion. Close enough; Pike n Shot is all you need; this game should stay in Ancients for a long long time.stockwellpete wrote:Ahem! Pike and Shot is most definitely not for the medieval period. Re: First expansion
Using DLC to grow the playerbase seems like a good idea to me. I wonder which historical settings are most well-known but also the easiest to implement? Maybe the campaigns of Belisarius? There seems to be a Viking revival going on at present so the TW: Attila method of highlighting pre-Viking Nordic warriors seemed successful as well.

Re: First expansion
The dark ages or moving into it would be lovely with Attila the Hun and all the tribes like Franks and Goths.
Or the Crusades and 100 years war time would be glorious to the extreme.
For Alexander the Great, there is the Tin Soldiers game on that war, but Greek vs Persians never can be overdone so more that would be good too.
