Hi,
will some new features of Field of Glory II be later introduced in Sengoku Jidai and in Pike and Shot ?
More precisely, I can read that some units can form a square in Field of Glory II .
I have looked at the Field of Glory Renaissance (miniature) rules (furnished with Sengoku Jidai in pdf format) and squares are allowed to some units (pikemen, spearmen, ...) in the miniature rules : will this ability be introduced in Pike and Shot or not ?
Thanks for these games.

Re: Squares and other features
We are currently working so hard on FOG2 that we have not had time to consider changes to P&S.
However I will say that the absence of forming square from P&S was not an oversight. Those units capable of forming effective squares are already immune to flank/rear attacks. Standard pike and shot units were deliberately not given that capability because we wanted them to have their historical vilnerabilty to cavalry when unsupported by their own. The only cases we could find of such units making an effective stand vs attacks from multiple directions were when they were in an enclosure..

Re: Squares and other features
Thanks for this explanation.
Even if you have no time to consider changes to Pike and Shot / Sengoku Jidai for now, do you believe that is technically feasible to introduce some FOG2 improvements in these two former games : the AI improvements , the Group move, the new terrain generator ( or other things) ?
As FOG2 uses a new engine, it is maybe not easy to do these changes ?
Regards.

It is certainly something we can think about, albeit there may be technical difficulties.

Would be cool to have "more or less" the same features (specially the AI and random maps) in all historical periods. In this way older games will never get dated and people will wish to buy them.

I would certainly pay for an updated Pike & Shot Campaigns that included some of the innovations from FOG II.
