Re: SYSTEM SPECS
Maybe compare here: http://slitherine.com/products/684/deta ... er.Corps.2
Your RAM might be too low, also consider the dedicated GPU and VRAM requirements mentioned there...
So older laptops might struggle at best...

Re: SYSTEM SPECS
How much free RAM do you have after rebooting your PC, but without any apps running in background? On average maps, Panzer Corps 2 currently uses like 1-1.5GB of RAM, but on some bigger maps I've seen it spiking to 2-3GB. This is reason why I currently put 8GB as a requirement. We'll see if we can relax this requirement before the release. There is still a lot of optimization potential.
Re: SYSTEM SPECS
In 2019 that's very little RAM. Especially since many laptops use RAM for video memory too. (Looking at Task Manager, my system is currently using 3,3 GB out of 6,9 GB available RAM. It is not recently rebooted)
If PC2 works well even with 4 GB, that's obviously great. I just don't want features to be removed, AI simplified etc just for the game to "fit" within 4 GB.
I honestly think making a 64-bit game that technically still runs but is slowed down if less than 8 GB RAM (system total) is available is entirely reasonable in this day and age.

Re: SYSTEM SPECS
thanks Rudankort for your quick reply, I think I will be fine, I can add memory if needed. cant wait til release day
Re: SYSTEM SPECS
hello again, I can uprade my memory to 8gb
my current video is nivida Gforce 9800 GT 2278 mb
64 bit dual core
I think I wont be able to play this?

Re: SYSTEM SPECS
Rudankort - Will PC2 have a map size limit like Order of Battle 120x120 ?...but on some bigger maps I've seen it spiking to 2-3GB.
Can we play PC2 in UHD - maybee also in 3d Occulus or its only again a game for 10 years old systems ?
Re: SYSTEM SPECS
There is some work still to be done to remove remaining hard limits from the game (e. g. break some textures used for the map into segments to avoid the limit of max texture size), but once this is done, map size will be limited only by available system resources.
Why would we create a new game for 10 year old systems? The game is fully compatible with UHD. In fact, it looks gorgeous on such screens, because all assets, including unit models, terrain and UI, are designed in 4k. I'm playing the game on 4k myself.
However, we have not tested it in 3d and don't consider it high priority. Perhaps later, when more important tasks are finished. I think, Unreal Engine has support for this, so it should not be too difficult to try and see how it works.

I use 2 Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti on an Intel Core i9-9960X X-Serie Prozessor.
That means I can play for example our old Panzer corps Barbarossa map 1600x850 Hexfields also on Panzer Corps II with my system ?
Its possible to transfer old PC maps to PC2 ? Karaganov needs 1 year to produce this Barbarossa Army Group Center map - to show / play the boiler battle of Volkowysk / Bialystok to Minsk - Borrisov in one big battle ?
Re: SYSTEM SPECS
I have no idea how much RAM such a map would require. Is it possible to download this map anywhere? In fact, I have not seen any maps even remotely close to this size. All kinds of problems are possible, from AI issues (in case this map relies on AI), to generating strategic map and minimap and who knows what else. At this point, I cannot guarantee it will run on your system.
Right now, a convertor exists but does not cover systems which are not fully finished in Panzer Corps 2 yet (most notably scripting). This will be fixed as we go forwards with the project. However, we are seeing from experience of converting some other maps that game balance can be seriously off because of changed game rules and unit stats. Without manual correction of balance, some converted maps can become pretty much unplayable.
Re: SYSTEM SPECS
I dont like to transfer the completly scenarios - only the maps are the most labor intensive process. I sended you 5 of my biggest maps for PC - Barbarossa Army Group center is really the biggest - my old Normandy maps looks like a sand box against - but is 2 times bigger like the Europa map project and any other in the forum. I produced also a completly Poland map 800x650, Sicily 43 and Kursk 43 - alltogether 55 maps - most much bigger than 400x400.Right now, a convertor exists but does not cover systems which are not fully finished in Panzer Corps 2 yet (most notably scripting). Re: SYSTEM SPECS
A thank you would have been great ! I sended you map material for over 200 working hours....Is it possible to download this map anywhere?
Re: SYSTEM SPECS
Sorry, got tied up with other things. I have downloaded the maps, and the biggest one, Barbarossa, converted to Panzer Corps 2. Some other maps had issues, which I will check out later. Once the game is able to load maps of this size, I'll use them for stress testing. I'm not going to use them for any other purpose. Thanks for sharing.

We used Massis terrain pack for all this maps - also "The forbidden person" unit mod.
Would be also nice to work out new maps directly inside the code lines - so we can convert directly all John Tillers HPS maps with Panzer Corps. Would be nice to xcopy the code system of them directly into PC2 - than we can play the most WW2 maps with PC2 and have no much work with the maps. Barbarossa Army group center / Western Military district 1600x850 isnt part of HPS - so we can use our old PC1 map, also my Poland map. Think about that !
