Gunships out of fuel dangling up in the field endlessly - resolved

Post by bill burroughs »

As per the topic subject above - I have had at least two such situations in the battle of Lashkar Gah I think; after I had failed to trace their fuel levels I had two Apaches hanging up in the air near FOB Alpha for multiple turns, unable to move, until one of them got finally shot down by the Taliban. At the same time they weren't running low on ammo at no point, serving as static aerial weapon platforms able to engage the enemy in their range.

Alright, it was my own defficiency to grasp the way the things work in the field; all it took was to supply the gunships with mobile FARPs ie. move the fuel to them which promtly resolved the issue. I am half way operation Mountain Thryst 2006 and am doing much better than in the previous one which ended in a shameful failure for the coalition. Everuthingworks like charm and now am struggilng to deny myself that "one more turn" to hang on to dear (real) life.
