Despite you guys advising and helping me, I still can't figure out how to assign a 50 percent appearance chance to a unit in the editor and am pouting and sulking like crazy; dialling the Stargate Seventh Quadrant would be a piece o' cake compared to this.
I want to do it so that every game will have a refreshingly unpredictable 'surprise' element.
As I said, you guys tried to help, but what I really need is for somebody to list the exact precise step-by-step sequence of mouse clicks to set it up, any takers?

Re: Still can't do the random appearance trigger setup
Not sure how to explain it better, so I attached a mini scenario that has nothing but one random trigger (with two trigger options).
If you unzip and put the scn folder into your ..\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Scenarios folder you can load it into the scn editor to study the triggers.
It features the well known war between Sweden and Communist China, and does nothing else then creating either an armored car *or* a tank for China at turn one. Both results work, but since it is random, you can end up with the same several times in a row, or in alternating order.
(test it by playing out of the editor, as it is pretty barebones otherwise).

bebro, I'm borrowing your infamous Sweden/China-study.
I would really like to use random triggers a lot, but I think the game's implementation of these are cumbersome.
Here's hoping for a simple % randomness trigger

Re: Still can't do the random appearance trigger setup
Thanks Bebro, and I agree with Erik2 that the OOB editor is cumbersome.
The Panzer Corps editor is much more streamlined, that's why I stayed with Pz Corps for so long..
Hey can I ask another question about the OOB editor?-
If I place an infantry unit on the map and give it Experience and Entrenchment levels, is there any way to clone the unit and place a dozen more on the map with the same Exp and Entrench levels?
Or do I have to place each unit individually and then go through the time-consuming process of assigning Exp and Entrench manually one by one?

Sorry, you can't clone units. Adding units etc is a very manual process.
But duplicating units is a very good idea which would save a lot time.
