Deploying para units in the deployment phase

I would like para units to be deployed by the player similar to regular land units.
Is this possible?
I've tried spawning core and aux paras (in air transports of course), but it seems they need a fixed deployment location. Without a location the paras simply do not appear in the reserve list in the deployment phase.

Do you want to give the player the option to deploy paras airborne initally?

That would circumwvent the cost thing as of now. I can ask Ad if it can be allowed, with the costs subtracted right away then...

Otherwise it's possible to:
- deploy core paras as regular land units on deployment hexes, but not airborne
- spawn AI paras (and probably player's too, never tried tho) in air transports by trigger anywhere

In this particular scenario I'm working on I'd like the player to be able to deploy aux paras in air transports (which are in the reserve tab).
I've created a number of deployment hexes and would like the player to choose which hexes to deploy the units in.
So there's no costs involved in this case.
I think it would be more fun for the player to try different strategies for the para drops.
(BTW, this is not a Market-Garden scenario :D )

If we are talking a relative limited number of aux paras you might be able to script some choice triggers for the player, which then would spawn those aux paras airborne acc. to the choices made?

So 1st trigger:

condition (whatever) > effect: dialog popup

Then two triggers activated by the individual popup choices which spawn paras in loc 1 or 2.

Then include another set for another choice and so on.

That would be my idea for now, but I never tried this myself, so can't guarantee it works, and it could easily require tons of work depending how far you wanna go with it. But at least it could enable something like you describe without further changes.

Edit: you could also combine it with a random trigger giving either
dialog popup A (plus trigger choices 1 or 2)
dialog popup B (3 and 4)
etc.

But this adds quite some workload too

There are 42 (!) para units in this scenario, so scripting the deployments is just too much.
Maybe you could pass my request to the powers upstairs?

A Market-Garden (or Merkur, Varsity, Kanev etc) scenario could really benefit from having 'freely' selectable para deployment locations.

It's not a new request by the community, but it would be really nice to be able to deploy paras directly in air-transports during deployment phase.
