2v1 Wintergewitter 1942

Post by Erik2 »

2v1 Wintergewitter 1942 is covering Germany's desperate rescue operation to save the 6th army at Stalingrad in December 42 and the Soviet offensives in the area.

There's a challenge with a vacant slot as the Soviet player if you'd like to test it.
Note that the Soviet player has a lot of units, so probably not for the faint of heart :D

2v1 Wintergewitter 1942

Several changes to address play balance. THe Soviets were too powerful in first version.

Soviet now starts. This prevents them from spotting where Manstein's relief force is deployed.
Increased unit experience for Romanian units.
Added some MG nests along the general frontline.
Stalingrad defenders are now initially in full supply, but have no resource income.
Each Ju52 supply unit will add 10 resource income pr turn to Stalingrad defenders when the Ju52 arrives at Gumrak airfield.
Added a number of MG nests and bunkers to the Stalingrad perimeter.

In Scandinavia scenario both Sweedish objectives are wrong.

The objective to sink Naval unit is checked as completed but I haven't sink anything yet.

The trigger that relates to German capture of Sweedish primary objectives sets this to COMPLETED for Germany but it does the same thing for Sweeden.

I also think "Note" will be regarded as an objective at the end.

Suggestion, If you do not plan to give any CP for purchase you can eliminate all factions except one (per Team) from purchase screen. In this case Poles and Canadians.

3v1 Scandinavia

Post by Erik2 »

3v1 Scandinavia:

Changed 'kill naval unit' trigger from 'Check Unit Count' to 'Kills & Casualties' for several objectives.
This allowed me to link killer and target nation. For example, both Norway and Sweden may fulfill their separate objectives of killing 1 Kriegsmarine vessel.

Fixed the other Allied primary occupation objectives.

Moved 'notes objectives' from primary to secondary.

Looks like there are several of the same scenarios in circulation. Same in terms of the version number, slightly different in name.

Recently I downloaded Road to Dnepropetrovsk 1.3 but could not accept the challenge named as 1v1 Road to Dnepropetrovsk 1.3.
Road to Moscow 4.2 also doesn't have 1v1 prefix. I am talking about Scenario name in settings, not folder name which is fine.

Things may have been screwed up in a busy publishing schedule :D
Fixed (and updated links).
Thanks for reporting.

2v1 Bulge to the Rhine 44-45

Post by Erik2 »

2v1 Bulge to the Rhine 1.0

Scenario desc:
After their success in France during the Summer 1944 the Allied forces have found their progress slowed to a crawl by the German defences comprising the Westwall. Now deep in the Winter and still on the German border the Allies have decided to wait until the Spring before launching further offensives. However the Germans have other plans: skilfully preparing for a surprise offensive through the Ardennes to recreate their success of 1940. The Luftwaffe have also planned an airstrike against the Allied airbases codenamed 'Bodenplatte'

There's a challenge up with a free slot playing the Germans if you want to participate in the test.
Download link in first post.
OBS! Note that there is a house rule regarding use of air units from the start until the weather clears.
The house rule is explained in a 'note objective'.

Erik,

Here's Velikiye Luki 2.5.

Changed Ju52 spawn condition from Deployed to Available. This fixes the landing at airstrip bug.
Added German secondary objectives and changed Soviet secondary objective descriptions to make it clear that Ju52s go to Velikiye Luki and armored trains go to Novosokolniki. No idea if this messes up the minor/major victory conditions.
Minor briefing tweaks.

Do you still have a copy of 2.2? I forgot to copy over the images.

What are the Ju52s in Wittergewitter supposed to do? If I'm reading the triggers correctly, it seems like if the Soviets shoot down a Ju52, it stops respawning.

Each Ju52 unit in Wintergewitter arriving at Gumrak should deliver income = +10 resources pr turn to the Stalingrad defenders.
Yes, if auntie Ju is shot down, the air lifts have failed. But Luftwaffe should be strong enough to fend the Soviet fighters off. As long as the Luftwaffe takes its escorting duty seriously, of course.

Sorry, I have no older copies of Velikiye, only 2.4

Regarding Midway, multiplayer. After many turns, there is no sign of the USN or IJN, just a few subs scouting around. Are the arrival times pre-programmed or is there some randomization? Or am I missing something?

If you mean the '1v1 Midway 1942 2.0' there are supposed to be two human players moving their respective forces...
Playable either via the multiplayer server or hot-seat.

2v1 Bulge to the Rhine 2.0

Increased resource income to 10 resource pr unit pr turn. It costs a lot to repair 1944-45 unit types...
Withdrawal of units will reduce resource income by the same amount, this affects the Germans most.
Replaced air house rule with air command points on various turns after the the weather clears, simple really

There is a recurring problem of scenarios with the same name and version numbering that cannot be accepted although the same scenario is owned in an appropriate folder.

Any particular scenario you have noticed this issue with?
2v1 Wintergewitter 1942 2.1 has the same folder name/scenario description. If there's a problem with this scenario it must be a game issue.

i know that conboy has problems joining challenges and I can only join using the first free slot in a 2v1 or 2v2 challenge.

Currently seeing as inaccessible:
1v1 Crete 1941 2.1
1v1 Market-Garden 2.1

Although outdated I only have 2v1 Wintergewitter 1942 2.0 and that one is too affected.

Both Crete and M-G are ok folder name vs scen desc.
This is odd, I suspect something's iffy with the multiplayer server. There have been some gateway errors lately as well.
I hope the forthcoming patch will fix these issues.
