Blitzkrieg Bug - Disappearing Waffen SS

Im playing blitz again and ive spec'ed into waffen ss and got the wiking div however after each scn i lose all ss units. the 2nd scn i played i bought 2 more ss units and after that scn when i advanced to the next scn i again lost both ss units and im having to rebuy my ss units. this didnt happen the first time i played blitz right after it came out so i dont know how long this bug has been around. tks.

He is correct. The Waffen SS Wiking Division, and any other Waffen SS unit purchased, disappear from one scenario to the next. I received the Waffen SS Wiking Division and purchased a Waffen SS infantry unit in the Greece scenario and they were gone for the beginning of Minsk.

I tested this again this morning, not because I anticipated finding a different result but because I was curious. Please pardon my feeble attempts at understanding!

In standalone Blitzkrieg scenarios, Waffen SS is always Neutral. I gather the Waffen SS specialisation causes this faction to move from Neutral to Human alliance.

So in Greece, the earliest the Waffen SS specialisation can be acquired, this alliance transfer happens and the Waffen SS Wiking Division is received by the human player. Another Waffen SS unit can be purchased and both appear to be under human control and part of the Core.

Then in Minsk, the next scenario, those units disappear. However, the the specialisation is still in place and the faction itself is still under human control.

So that's not the problem. Yet, the units themselves are not retained in the Core. I checked units.csv for unit expiration dates, knowing that was an unlikely reason. That's the limit of my understanding, for sure.

thanks for looking into this. like i said this is the first time playing blitz since the first time right after it launched. any ss units i purchase for each scn is lost after that scn. also i never got the flak unit that you get with kriegs purchase but i was in the middle of the camp when that started so it probably doesnt appear mid camp. anyway im on kiev scn now so ill be done with this play through in a couple of days.

I'd say my usual "My pleasure!" but this one is apparently a tough bug. The discussion of this issue is being continued in this thread: Patch 4.1.5
