Tutorial Crash - Soundcard

I tried 3 times to get past the tutorial, crashed every time within 5 minutes. Ran a dxdiag and looked at the recent system errors it pulled, saw error caused by this:

P2: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_0060&SUBSYS_38423753&REV_1001

So I disabled my onboard audio, and it appears that has fixed it. Posting this in case anyone else runs into this issue. I've ran hundreds of games over the past year and this is the first time I've had to do this, I saw there was/is? a similar problem with onboard video. Hope you guys clean up the code up to handle these configs, I was about to ask for my first ever steam refund.

Maybe the issue is not related directly with the sound card.
Have you checked if a 3rd party program isn't interfering? Have you tried disabling Steam overlay?
