Map Art

Post by Hrothgar »

Has anyone seen the new Compass Games boardgame, Battle Hymn Vol.1: Gettysburg and Pea Ridge? The map is amazingly similar to the one in this game.

When I first saw this map, it seemed stylistically different from any other map I'd seen, certainly any other Gettysburg map. Consequently, seeing a nearly identically styled map in Battle Hymn was quite a surprise.

Does anyone know whether the same artist, or the same source map, was used in both games?

Yes. I art directed and did the text and UI at the old Shenandoah. The rest was done by Rob Shields and he's worked on the compass release.

So same game, mostly same artists. The box art, rules and counters were done by someone at compass.

Its now been taken over by another equally awesome Shenandoah.
