Where to Buy Mac Version?
Where does one purchase the new Mac version of CEaW? I'm glad to see games being done for Macs so I don't have to change to my Windows partition.

Re: Mac Tech Support
Hi guys,
we have a fixed version of the file and we just need to integrate it with our store. We'll get it sorted out as soon as we can.
Thanks!

Re: Mac Tech Support
I purchased the game back in 2007 (original CEAW) from Freeverse. Still have the receipt emails and codes. It will not activate though likely due to freeverses activation servers being down. What can I do at this point as I can't find a non-drm version and all the supported programs are through the Military History version.

Write an email to support[at]slitherine co.uk with your order details and ask if they can provide you with a non freeverse version.bjuskiewicz wrote:I purchased the game back in 2007 (original CEAW) from Freeverse. Re: Mac Tech Support
Good morning,
I'm trying to reinstall CEAW on my new Macbook Pro, but when I use the Enter Code feature, the program stalls and becomes unresponsive, it seems it can't hit the web service for SN validation. I can only crash it using Activity Monitor. Is there any tip or patch fixing that? I'm running latests OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers. Lucas

Re: Mac Tech Support
Well the Freeverse servers are no longer available.
Do you have any records of when you purchased Mac CEAW?
You could forward that to Slitherine (support) and see if they can help.
Do you still have access to the old computer where the game was installed?
You can go into home folder/ Library/ preferences and collect anything that has com.freeverse and place that in the smae location of the new Mac.
See if the game will launch.

Is anyone having trouble with the new OS X Maverick? All of a sudden none of the CEAW versions will run.

Ok, it seems Mavericks installer deletes Java. You may have to download it manually.

Re: Mac Tech Support
it deletes Java 6.0 and installs Java 7.0

Re: Mac Tech Support
In my case it just deleted Java and I had to manually download the current version. But CE@W works so it's all good.

Re: Mac Tech Support
Hi - I am having trouble with a downloaded version of the game. After I drag the CEAW icon from the disk image to my application folder, it seems to copy successfully. However, when I click on the CEAW file once it has been copied, I am getting an error message that the file is damaged and should be sent to the trash. Is there some setting on my Mac that I need to adjust, or is the file actually damaged?
Re: Mac Tech Support
Hi,
Did you try to delete the file that you downloaded, and try to download again? Is this version 3.00?
From which site are you downloading from? Slitherine or Matrixgames?
Any other sites I would not trust.

Hi - I did try to delete the file and download again, but I was getting the same problem. I am downloading from Slitherine. I think it is version 3.0 -- it is the file purchased from this link: http://www.slitherine.com/games/mh_ceaw_gold_pc
Re: Mac Tech Support
AH - ok - thanks for the help but I have figured it out. It was a problem on my end. Thanks again.
Re: Mac Tech Support
Hi,
I am glad you got it working.
Do you mind sharing what you discovered? It can help others if they have a similar problem.
Thanks.

Re: Mac Tech Support
Ok more fun with Mac. I upgraded the Java (forgetting the lesson from last time) *and* upgraded to the Yosemite OS. It wouldn't let me open CE@W saying I had the wrong Java. It helpfully directed me to the *correct* java so I thought the problems were over. Only now the CE@W screen flickers, sometimes epileptic-ally so. Is there a specific version of Java I need to make this go away?

Re: Mac Tech Support
It may be coincidence but it seems like 3.1 does little or no flickering as opposed to 3.0 which gets quite annoying. Still no one else has seen this?

Re: Mac Tech Support
No joy. The game wouldn't draw some windows or the units in the regular view. I tried loading older versions of Java but no joy. So I'm going to play on an older computer with legacy software. it's slow but it seems to work.

Re: Mac Tech Support
I went to yosemite and the game was very slow with the correct java from Oracle or Apple.
So I returned to 10.9 and it plays fast and fine that way.
