$10 Price tag
$10 Price tag
If V65 was $20, would it increase the production value of the game ? ....possible follow ons to the game maybe ? Hire some techie right out of school to enter code ?
$10 sounds too cheap. IMO, computer gaming has to be THE cheapest entertainment "bang for the buck" there is. I think I figured it out that it cost me 10 cents an hour to play the BotB and DoM series. It may be the only thing in the modern world that I think is priced less then what I feel it should......this coming from someone who knows NOTHING about marketting. I can only assume that there are fancy charts and graphs that say, "If we price it at $X, we can expect #Y sales".
Maybe a higher price point would weed out the gamers simply looking for their next twitch thrill in between ADD meds ? Eliminate those that would comment that "The explosions aren't big enough" or something. Surely, a mature gamer.....with a job....could fork out $20 for a decent game in the hopes that the revenues would go to produce even better stuff down the road.
.....but this is all a bunch of consumer psychology stuff, I'm just talking out my ass right now.

Mylo, feel free to donate extra money, but don't ask that others pay more!

All feedback ( and donations ) welcome ....
Re: $10 Price tag
A nice well advertised patch is the best promotion for a game (providing it let the game bug free). It induces gamers to at last pay this full price.
"Look, you find this game attractive, and now it is even better! Won't you give to these deserving devs the money they ask to live and make other good games?"

Re: $10 Price tag
Ten was a good "market share" price point strategy. Would I have paid $20 knowing what I now know having paid $10? Yes. Would I know what I now know if it was originally priced at $20? No.
Now I'm in the market share, and will be much more likely to buy future games in this genre from this developer.

Re: $10 Price tag
I would pay an extra $5 for a black hex mod (like the small map) . The game is very good value for money.
